MSRP discount 992

your comment about no single competitor... I used to hate that comment but now I’m in the market for a fun car, budget in or around that price range, need to be able to have a kid (or RARELY two) in the back seat. Only thing I can really cross shop are the new M5 and E63s, which are obviously very different cars (although both pretty awesome). 911 still owns its niche it’s amazing.

Rumor has it McLaren May come up with a 4 seater, but I see their reliability is an issue. Lotus evora was another dud. Audi RS5 is a porker.
If you crank the money dial up, doesn't improve much as it's mostly GT cars. If the Portofino behaved properly on a track, would be the next one for me. I heard the tires squealing on a few YouTube videos, not promising at all. Aside for that (and price tag), I think it's the best GT convertible in the market. Porsche prices are so out of hand that you can see TTS in the same price bracket as a Portofino.

Has anyone been able to get a discount on a new order? I am considering an order and my dealer offered me a free clear bra + 2 years maintenance (but no discount on MSRP). What do you guys think?

Yes, here in FL they are discounting them but my SA told me they are restricting orders to local repeat customers only due to the demand.

As for the "free 2-year maintenance" don't forget the 992s first oild change is probably already "free" just like the 2018 991.2 and newer cars, so that's already included in your purchase price. So, essentially they are only giving you a free brake fluid flush, and that's only worth about $250.

A little harsh don’t you think? Are you suggesting it’s beneath someone of such vast wealth as to try to negotiate a better price on something? Seems pretty common sense to me to negotiate the price of a car whether it’s a Honda Civic or Porsche 911. Money is money and most people don’t want to spend more than they have to no matter what their personal economic circumstance.
No question that he's the exception to the rule, but I strongly suspect that there are others like him.

I bet there are but there are many more of us that negotiate - I did not get what I have today by giving it away when I don't have to.

Yea right. They are simply messaging you shouldn’t negotiate. Dickwads. Time to go to another dealership. I believe rich people are very shrewd individuals.....they haven’t got where they are by always saying yes and giving away more money than necessary. That salesperson has just insulted you with that stupid comment.

Come on guys...course there is a discount. You just need to ask for it after they say there isn't one.
But if you can afford this, is it really worth it?

I drove a really hard bargain and got 40%. Up until I got that discount I thought an M2 Competition was the better value.
I had to agree to buy the 992 GT3 at MSRP though.
