I didn't go crazy but yes, I included rear axle steering and LED matrix lights, but no fancy "air vents covered with the leather of rare Siamese cows - or - key fob painted in Kim Kardashian's favorite color and covered with Swarovski crystals" --> $146k, you GOT to be kidding me!

So, what's your point? Don't see the value?? Doesn't fit your budget???
Don't buy one, then. Buy a used 991. Buy a used 992 in a few years.
Most all 991S were easily into the mid $130. This isn't a huge leap from that.

Agreed. I was just looking at a 2010 C4S that was $136k new. My 06 C2S was $105k new 12 years ago. These cars are expensive brand new.

Well, this should bring a smile to the Execs and Engineers at GM who are working on the mid-engine Corvette. It’s funny though, the Corvette seems to be becoming more of a sports car while the 911 now seems to have both feet firmly planted in being a grand tourer (unless you want to hope PAG chooses you so you can spend >$200K for a GT-x) - who would have predicted this 30 years ago?

I just configured one, too. Lizard green, 2 tone interior with sport seats plus, sliding glass roof, and Pasm for $121K. That new wart is pretty ugly. Didn't see how to delete PDK. You get what you pay for I guess. European delivery is free Time moves on and so do prices. Ten years ago I didn't think a hopped up Civic could cost $35k.

Funny, I did the same thing last night. I spec’d out the same 991 I’ve previously done on the website. The old one came up in the mid $130s. The 992 rang up at $168k.
...And just because an Escalade has $100k on the sticker doesn’t mean you’ll wind up paying that (unless you’re the worst negotiator in the world). When we bought our Suburban, we cross-shopped Escalades and the transaction prices were in the mid $70s in spite of the six figure price tags.

...that is if you care about that kind of thing...
Personally, I tried buying cars for what they'd sell for in 20+ years..it sucks! I'll only ever buy cars for the joy of driving them from now on.
