Default Touring also with PDK?

Thank you much for the very interesting video.

The most informative part, I believe, is the Touring manouvering in the parking lot: I think it could help answer the question if the Touring would be available also with PDK.

To me it looks like the car going in reverse with the brake lighs on as indicative of a PDK gearbox, but I may be mistaken and will hear what others think about it.

If the PDK version is indeed in the cards, then the manual will be likely a revised version of the SC 7 gears manual and not a new gearbox.

I concur; the car in the video appears to be equipped with a PDK, not a manual.

Default Heritage Edition info

From another 3D ... user Cosmos posted info about the "wingless" turbo being an Heritage Edition option ... relata refero ...

"SC was to see if there was a market for it and there was. The new new is turbo no vents and manual, very much like the SC, but released as a Heritage option, not to be confused with the actual limited Heritage Turbo car, which is a separate project."

What is the over or under 992.2 Turbo cabrio ~ 4000lbs. 992.1 is a smidge over 3800lbs and I don’t know how the hybrid car will not approach the 4000lbs club. It’s insane from just a few yrs back a 911 would weigh that much

We have now seen the 50th Anniversary 992.1 turbo and it has been somewhat of a letdown ...

My Porsche Center confirmed that they expect the configurator for the new 992.2 turbo S to go live around February 2025, but they do not have info yet on the non-S turbo or specific about RWD or manual.

Apparently the GT4 RS hype has gone, as they have both a Cayman RS on the floor available for sale and allocations for the Boxter RS ...

Contrary to other "Limited Editions" for the 50th Anniversary 992.1 turbo he told me they have a couple of interested customers and not the huge number they got for the S/T or the Sport Classic ...

Have these dates been confirmed? Seems a little early for GT3, I thought GT3 would be early next year.

Yes, Spyder RS.

The allocation is available in Switzerland, just to avoid confusion with US readers.

Good question. In the past Porsche has tested the water with limited editions to then make a mass-produced version; where the original Sport Classic effectively became the GTS variant, and 911 R became GT3 Touring, could we see this offered as a mass-produced car Turbo Touring? We’re not sure. But we hope so.
it’s going to be offered as a mass produced car. This does not however means unlimited allocations. Expect the same limitations that the GT3 faces.

The available number of "turbo touring" will depend on a number of factors in my opinion:

- will it be offered in every country? As it could have higher CO2 emissions than the turbo S variant
- will Porsche aim at increasing the number of turbo sold (with a wider differentiation between turbo and turbo S) or will it aim at increasing margin on about the same total volume?
- will this variant be available also in PDK?

Given the best guess estimate of total turbo/turbo S cars of the 991.2 and 992.1 generations at about 12.000 worldwide; I would place a reasonable interval of total production for a "turbo touring" 992.2 at about 3000-5000 cars.
The above would actually make it more difficult to get then a GT3, which was produced in the latest generations in about 9.000 cars worldwide.

The above is just my wild estimate, assuming that Porsche will not ramp-up the volumes substantially for the 992.2, which in itself is possible.

At the end of the day it takes about the same amount of time on the production line to assemble a base Carrera and an RS (if the components are available) and Porsche wants to up-sell customers to the most expensive variant they can afford ...

A video summary of most information shared here on Rennlist and elsewere about incoming models...

https://youtu.be/WtFOdhX9zus?si=k8Ijxldn0WQ1OMTo

I still have doubts about the electric motor in the non-S turbo paired with a manual and silversurfer has been adamant about the car not having it (for what I have understood).
Also the power level for the turbo S sounds plausibile at 700 hp, but I see the turbo RWD having probably less than the 640 hp the video is claiming: about 100 hp over the Sport Classic sounds too many.
I would argue maybe around 580-600 hp from the combustion engine alone, without the electric motor in the PDK housing.

Just my observations looking at the video.

The info was that the RWD Turbo is not a hybrid.

The first audible shift in that video certainly sounds like a standard transmission.
