Default Just got TTS allocation but..

After two years of waiting, dealer just text, I can have a 24 TTS allocation to build as I desire. No PTS obviously which is something I wanted.

Complicating factor is I just bought a 22 TTS and the spec is 80% what I would have ordered. Major changes for build would be lightweight package and a few minor options, most likely same color (black) since no PTS which would be dark olive

Paid $245 for the 22 with 1000 miles on the odo. Has full PPF.

Build would be around $265 for what I want, would also be at MSRP.

I've asked for a trade quote but do not have yet.

What would you do?

order new one.......put deposit down. decide when it shows up. drive current car till then. whats the risk? your deposit? further depreciation on the 22? who cares, youll have a car to drive all summer, they arent free.

By the time this is done you will probably be in the hole at least 40-50k. I would just ask myself how long was I planning to keep the car and if those 20% of options are really worth it for you. If it’s a forever car then maybe it’s worth it. If you were going to trade it in in a few years anyway then I wouldn’t bother.

Go for the new one, one of the last ever proper turbos before the hybrids take over. As long as you plan to keep it.

Mostly the lightweight package meaning buckets? Just buy them and you can sell them after you're done.

Or if you NEED your build you need your build and spec the new one.

Whats a proper turbo? A TTS with hybrid help so there's no lag would be insane.

Proper turbo is just OG, pre extra tech. The new car will be epic, Im sure...but its not going to be the classic format, and it won't have a key to turn!

All good thoughts, like what's been going through my head.

Who GAF, just do it.
Last proper non hybrid year, buy it.
Mod the 22 and live with it.
Build what you want.
Hybrid turbos and drivetrain will be insane, wait.

OK, off to drink.

I think it depends on how rich you are.

Would the extra $40k make your wife say, "I don't get it, why'd you order the same car you already had?"

I had a similar option. About three days after I bought my 21 I was given the opportunity to get a 24 and spec it to my liking. It was gonna be about $50,000 more than what I had just spent plus tax. I give it some thought for a couple days and decided it just wasn’t worth it. And that does not even take into consideration what they were going to give me for my car when I traded it in.
if you like what you have then keep it.

Here is this lag word I keep hearing all the time. I am very confused by it, no lag with my car.

Are you guys driving around in normal mode LOL

OP. If you're doing LWP for buckets, don't count on it, I have LWP, buckets are hard to get and stop sale lots. I got stuck with 18ways for the same price, gross.

Try for a 2025 since they are still building the TTS I hear, then you can try for PTS and get everything you want MAYBE.

It depends on the trade-in value. At $235 trade-in, I'd probably get the 24.

Default Decision Day on new 24 TTS

Currently have a 2023 4GTS PDK but have an opportunity to get new TTS with all options I want. Never had TTS, is the “fun” worth the extra $$$ over my GTS? Any input from TTS drivers is appreciated!

for original post….but may apply to this…

drive existing car since it is about the same car as new one you could have, until bored with it, monitor how new tech cars are coming along and trade then…

I was in your same situation. My SA told me it would be about a two year wait for an allocation last year. I bought a 2022 back in December. Received a call three weeks ago for a '24 allocation. Price differential between trade-in ($225K) and build was about $40K which includes a trade-in sales tax credit towards the new one. I went ahead and pulled the trigger. It doesn't make financial sense but I'm happy as I get to build a new car for me.
