All day, every day. I went with why-not-both but the macs are much more fun to drive and a lot more dynamic. The suspension is in a totally different league and handles the B roads better than any Porsche. The 3RS is interesting competition for pure track use, and I can see why some track rats prefer that, but not a street roads competitor. Porsche is really the only game in town for a MT driving experience, though. At least at 6 figures.

Thats a very strong statement I have my allocation coming up that I need to decide what to do with.

The 992 3RS is a really special track car. It's a different driving experience, imo, than the 991 3rs. You can really change the character of the driving on the fly and I can't think of another 6 figure road legal car like it. My mind was blown. But. Its specialness isn't relevant to public roads. The aero is useless, the dynamic controls overkill for everything off track. It's not faster than a regular gt3 on a public road. But it is a lot more expensive than a regular gt3 and has more delicate and difficult to replace parts for the active aero and such. Unless you're a track rat, or a Porsche collector, it isn't, imo, worth the extra money. If I were going to do 10+ track days a year, it'd be more tempting. Although even then, the ADM is extremely bitter. It's just not a $450K car. That's half a Senna. It's ****ing absurd.

The Mac is like a TTS on the road and a gt2RS on the track and transitions between personalities seamlessly. It's a supercar, not just a track car.

Appreciate the feedback. I already have a 991 3rs and 992 3rs as well as 992 TTS. All MSRP no markup involved. I’d be replacing the 991 with 750s as I find myself driving the 992s all the time.

You are forgetting the brakes, I think brakes of these Porsches are the top in their class, even TTS is pretty fantastic

The 750 just did a 1:27.10 at Laguna Seca. It is totally 100% a track car when you want it to be. That's what makes it so incredible. As comfortable and usable as a normal car on the road, but blows the doors off 99.9% of cars on a track when you want it to. If you go to any large track, Laguna Seca, Road America, etc on a normal open practice day, id say 60-70% of all the supercars there are Mclarens. They are by far the dominant brand for track days for the supercar world. On a fun note, the 750 currently holds a faster lap time than a Senna around Laguna Seca. GT3RS can't touch it.

I love Mclaren BUT being the fastest doesnt equal the best. 60% to 70% of the cars on nearly any track day are Porsche and not Mclaren. I go to a Mclaren sponsored track day at Sebring twice a year and they heat soak/over heat in the summer. Most cant do a a full session. This probably isnt the case in other parts of the country but seems to be here. Regardless, I'm happy we have the Mclaren brand but prefer my slower car on track. I've taken a 720s and 675lt around Sebring a few times and the 675lt was my favorite. I almost got one but the mandatory pre AND post track inspection is annoying to say the least if you track a lot....

Why dont they do a nurburgring time? If its that much better than an RS there posting 1:27, surely it will do a 6:3X in nurburgring?

In the comments, many point out track was repaved and that helps a bit. Nevertheless, I watched Austin and what a lap, amazing driving. No doubt 750S is fast!

Interesting read : https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...t-test-review/

91 vs 93 octane 60 hp is pretty substantial but still strange apples to apples newer car was slower. I think their problem was the trofeo R tires which the 720S didnt have which was somewhat of a strange advantage it had over 750S. I wish they redid the test with 93 octane. So what CA doesnt have 93 octane, cant they drive to a nearby state or mix 100 with 91 to make 93 octane?

I've said this before. I have a McLaren 570 GT, 992 GT3, 992 TTS, 991.2 3RS, 4RS, and Cayman R. I've had other Porsches in the past. As a road car, I enjoy the 570 more than any of the Porsches, I consider it to be next level.

The trofeo R tires are …. not to my liking. They are really difficult to get into operating temperature on the street. Using them in a drag without prep sounds ****ing daft. Brooks from dragtimes has done both a 720 and a 765. The 750 is much closer to the 765. I’m sure Brooks will get his hands on a 750 eventually.

also, I mean, 0-60. Buy a plaid if that;s your goal.

Dont care about 0-60, but if you read the article all numbers including 1/4 mile, figure 8, even breaking was either worse or on par to 720S. It has to be the tires but I’m puzzled why these guys didnt get the tires warmed or use better fuel. Its not fair to the car.

If you're not tracking the car, the driving experience is what matters. Those performance numbers aren't important, doesn't matter how objectively fast the car is. Only matters whether the car subjectively feels fast on the roads you drive on, in the way you can drive on them, if feeling fast is what you want.

Sorry I should have been more clear, I was saying supercars at track days. I consider Porsches sports cars. Yes there are more Porsches at track days. In terms of supercar brands like Lambo, Ferrari, Mclaren, etc there are by far more Mclarens at track days than other brands. And my 570, 765LT, 620R, and Artura have lasted full track sessions without issue! I beat the crap out of them and they are great around tracks! Sold the 570 and Artura. Put 21,000 miles on my 570. Loved that car. Such a fun car around a track! Artura was a great car as well. Haven’t tracked my 750 yet, I’m sure it will put lap times pretty much identical to my 765LT. Never had overheating issues.

Does the 750 have the sane "emotion" the 765 has? When i drove the 720 it was noticeably faster than the 675 but the 675 was so much more rewarding. Kinda like going from a 911 turbo to gt3.
