Getting a lot of stones in the Turbo air intake
#16
Clearly an engineering OOPS that Porsche does not want to admit. There should not be this indent in the vent... Like most people added, minor issue to deal on this otherwise superb platform

I don't recall ever seeing stones in the side intakes in 991 since there was no gap. It's like the new fancy door handles or the shaver shifter. No one asked for that nonsense yet here we are. Porsche just makes changes to design that had no fault just for sake of change creating unnecessary problem. I am going to wager they will close the gap in 992.2 on the intakes along with proper shifter and door handles. Just like that we will be back to old design that was perfect and needed no engineering solution

Who cares about the little stones in the intake, what about the beautifully machined circles and rings I have around the barrel of the front two wheels???
That kills me 100000x more than 3 pebbles in the intakes.

The more fun I have, the more stones seem to be collected. This is the collection from one trip over the Splügen Pass in November, just before it was shut...
Before you ask, normal summer road tyres. Huge grip but huge fun when prodded

Have you guys checked the prefilter inside the intake?
Shark Blue car, if you have that much stuff on the outside, I can only imagine how your prefilters look.
Highly suggested that you check them out, you might be surprised. I had A LOT of rocks inside mine and only in 5000km.

Through the rear wheel liner, it comes out with 4-6 screws then you have access to the air filte area. There is a screw I think and the prefilter will come out.

I just installed DB Carbon air intakes, and I put some 1/8" black foam stick on around the edge to fill in the gaps. Haven't tried it yet but hope it keeps the stones from getting stuck.

I would love to see pictures. Every time I consider DB carbon intakes I contact them and they say to me that they would love to help me out and can get me the products in six or eight months. Lol. Kind of ruins the moment, and then I forget about it. Maybe seeing yours installed will get me excited about it again.

DB Carbon Side Air Vents w foam
DB Carbon has the best pieces! I think this foam helps fill in the gap. far fewer stones getting trapped.
It did take 3 months for the shipment to come. Ordered in Oct and came in January. But could not be happier with the pieces!
I have a sh*t ton more carbon to show in coming week.
