Default New to Porsche and Rennlist, advice appreciated

I just bought a 2022 Turbo S Cabriolet, 3500 miles, CPO. Car is PPF wrapped. I'm a long time ///M car guy,

daily drive a 2018 M5, and this is my first foray into Porsche ownership. I wanted a weekend car, a convertible, and rocket-like performance, so I landed on the 992. Please school me on what I need to know about this car, what I need to do, what to expect for maintenance, preventative maintenance, etc.

How do you find the performance vs the M5?

This may sound crazy but I haven't driven it yet. I live in NC and spotted the car I wanted at a dealership in Texas, and they're in the process of shipping it to me.

I too am really anxious to compare it to the M5, which I've driven for 35k miles and has been phenomenal. It's hard for me to imagine the somehow more insane acceleration that's coming my way, knowing how hard the F90 pulls.

I will post updates after I receive it. Cheers everyone!

Just drive the heck out of it... They are extremely robust cars, with phenomenal perfornance, and the CPO is the golden ticket.

If you decide to sharpen it's claws bit either during or after warranty period, there are lots of very proven upgrades... DSC sport controller for the suspension, free flowing exhaust, quality tune.

Glad to hear others like chalk. I gotta admit, I never thought I'd go for any color even resembling white. But, then chalk comes along and with the right trim, etc, it just looked damn good. And with truffle brown leather, I couldn't resist.

I had an M5C F90 and actually getting another one next week as I missed my first one
as far as TTS, nothing to school you about , just drive it and enjoy .It is fast and a different feel than M5. Seating position is lower and better, car drives and feels smaller than M5
as far as maintenance , it is too early now to worry about that , you have some time to go
M cars are great , but Porsche 911 is a different level and you started at the top so congrats

1. there is no DSC controller for the 992 platform or the Turbo S. Aftermarket exhausts add little to nothing by way of performance over the stock PSE and introduce DRONE.
2. Compared to the M5 you will feel a NOTICEABLE increase in acceleration, handling and braking. Turbo S is a beast.
3. If you want more, all these cars really need are a tune and 200 cell cats. Anything more than that is minimal gains for maximum expenditure..

Just drive it like a regular car. There's nothing really else to know. And read the owners manual. Most importantly, spend a few hours reading back on as many threads in this forum as you can. ALL the info you'd ever need is there.

We just bought a new BMW M5 Competition for my wife. She really likes it.

Congratulations! All you need to know is, the car will do whatever you want it to do. The car often predicts what you want it to do. It's a real driving experience. Enjoy...

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. Any recommendations for rubber floor mats? The car has truffle brown interior, and I think the standard mats are carpet. Car should be arriving this coming weekend.

Big congrats on your purchase! I am new to Porsche and jumped right into the deep end with my first Porsche, a 2023 TTS also. I was dead set on either carmine red or shark blue. Then I fell hard for chalk. I tried for a long time to convince myself to pick a more interesting color and I always fell back on chalk. I couldn’t be happier now that I’ve had it and experienced it in various light conditions. I find it more and more interesting as time goes on.

my suggestion is to drive it like ya stole it!

Man, that chalk paint looks great! Can't wait to get mine. I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy this car.

Fantastic car, congrats. My one advice is to be careful, the car is crazy fast. Very easy to quickly be at jail speeds.
