Default # 3 on TTS allocation!

Would be my first Porsche. I called so many random dealerships to get allocation, found one (smaller dealership) In Louisiana and was told I’d be number 3 on the list and would take a few weeks to months to secure an allocation cos of chip shortages and shop size.

In California, the lists are huuuge and outnumbers the gt3, the Louisiana sales rep said most people are switching from gt3 to turbos and it was at 10 just 1 day after I had called (this was on Monday)

Anyone know why the sudden interest? My guess is that the markup/adm on gt cars plus the videos like one from Randy Pobst stating tts drives like a gt3 without compromise might be steering folks. At least that’s what steered me.

I think everyone is gravitating to the increased horsepower and commensurate performance. The GT3 is a great car but quite quickly track junkies will be looking for more power. For street use, the 992 TTS has plenty of power, and really never leaves you wanting. You can certainly use it for the occasional DE day. The 992 GT3RS is still 1-2 years out and that will probably be the track car of choice for the p-car enthusiast.

I’m #1 at my dealer waiting for the next allocation... what a time we live in where we have to wait months to a year to give Porsche 200k

My dealer got 5 TTS allocations this year, but 10 GT3, I wonder if this is the case for most dealers, and why would they make more GT3s?

That's a lot of GT3s.

Bay Area dealer, guessing one of the higher volume ones.

Likely more demand for them. Porsche also cut down on 991.2 TTS volumes compared to 991.1s since they acquired a reputation as depreciation kings, and Porsche probably doesn’t want their flagship non-GT product to acquire that sort of reputation. This is probably continuing with the 992s.

Interesting. What is the quoted ring time on the 992 TTS?

This is true. 991.2 TT/S were harder to get than the 991.1. Of course, the 992 TT/S is a whole new ballgame. Personally, I'm fine with this. Once upon a time, the 911 Turbo was a special car and seeing those later cars sitting on the floor with heavy discounts was a real bummer. 992 TT/S seems like a return to form, but time will tell.

Weren't there more 991 TT/TTS produced than 991 GT3s? (Combined .1 and .2 generations)

Worldwide 991.2 GT3/RS production totaled 14,300 per Wikipedia. Hearsay is that Porsche makes more GT3/RS than Turbos.

I found this on RL, FWIW

Good luck with your allocation. I wait almost 5 months. My TTS Cab is scheduled to arrive in early August. Only disappointment is the Sport Package isn’t available as it was put on quality hold.

I should have said all GT cars -- i.e., GT3/RS and GT2 RS

Updating this thread as well, yup dealers are having more GT3 allocation that TTS, they actually negotiated the ADM down to something i was happy to live with and I took it. Still save lots of money over my TTS spec and can try something different, if i dont like it, sell it.
