Just wanted to update this thread that I also still have this problem.
I discussed it with my dealer but they have no solution so far. I adjusted the way I drive so I’m switching to the manual mode only when I have a nice stretch of road ahead and I’m already moving. In the city I stay in auto with occasional flick of a paddle to downshift.
German spec 992 TTS, delivered August 2020.
@petermcm , good luck and thanks for keeping us updated.

I agree my 2009 Nissan GT-R had faster shifts than my 2021 TTS. The second you pulled that paddle you were in the next gear, this one has a major delay before the change happens.

There is a delay in comfort mode. In sports mode it's a lot better and in sports plus there is no delay at all.

Goning hard in Sport Plus...it gets closer to expectations.

When driven sedately, it does lag a bit. However, on full attack mode on track in Sport+, it leaves very little to be desired (and yes, I have recently driven a 991.2 GT3RS on track).

then you are being dishonest…. I owned both and the turbo s transmission was the biggest reason I sold the car… the gt3 rs transmission is the fastest shifting car I have ever experienced…

Recently took part in the “Driven Project” in Cincinnati. There were two gt2rs cars. It was raining and while driving on the highway, which was completely closed off by LE just for us-12 cars- I went flying past the two GT cars like they were standing still. Such a great all purpose weapon.

I think it is unfair to compare shift speeds TT/TTS with a single purpose GT product. Different missions and 991 TT/TTS was same way even with 7 speeds. If you wanted even faster shifts in 991 TT/TTS you went with Cobb PDK tune which shifted the way the GT cars did but it totally ruined TT/TTS experience again because it was always in attack mode normal/sport/sport + and that is not the mission of the TT/TTS. You want ultimate aggression and a stiffer suspension then it's obvious to just get a GT car. There will be no doubt a PDK tune just like there was for 991 that will increase the shift points i imagine in the future.
Back to original discussion any updates new software to address the problems with manual shifts?

The update i can share is exactly that...an update was done on my car when it was in for the rear spoiler driver motor replacement....they did not say anything specific about the "whats new or improved" but the transmission shifts have been seamless without a missed shift since then - so it can make sense, if for no other reason, to get the car back to the dealer to get whatever porsche updates are available - gives me the excuse for another oil change ($450+ tax at my dealer)
