Default First time tracking 992 TTS — my impressions

Just finished my first track day in a 992 TTS Cab at Hallet in OK. Not my first track/HSDE, but I rate my skills as a solid amateur, intermediate at best.

I’ve driven several auto cross events, Hallet, Ron Fellows in Vegas, Memphis (MIR); just tracks that are reasonably close to home.

started out in sport mode, finished the day in sport plus with sport pasm.

I must say the car has much more capability especially in the corners than my the level of my comfort (so far). I’ll back off on the throttle in the turn knowing the car had more capability than what I’m demanding.

put the tires down to 26psi cold, and they topped out about 35psi hot. I put michilen PS4S on instead of the stock pirellis.

overall, I’m thrilled with my purchase and could not be happier!

looking forward to more track events this year and becoming a better driver. Ready to get the car hauler next!

Cheers

Good for you! Nothing better than continuing to learn how to drive a high performance car. If and when you get a chance, hire a driving coach for the day. Years ago, I was fortunate to have one of the oldest coaches in the Ferrari Pacific Region teach me. It is something that has served me well for over 20 years and thousands of laps. Here in CA, the coaches are not yet allowed to ride along in the car because of the Covid restrictions. You may be under the same restriction. But when they are lifted you may find it quite beneficial to assist and expedite your learning.

That's when you get the Cup car. I bought my TTS so I could drive to the track!

OEM sizes with the Michelin? How did they compare to the Pirellis?

Thanks Lpw 016. An interesting point you make... I tracked my 997 Turbo, my 991 TTS... and on May 19th, I am taking the 992 TTS to "Le Castelet", France's F1 track. I am cpncerned that the car's ability is way above mine.... but I can't wait to open up the taps on the rocket ship...

Lowered H&R springs , Chamber 1.9 F, 2.5 R makes 992 TS handle way better with 265/325 MSC2
