Everything was great. This morning it was a full charge and in maintenance mode. What a relief. I guess there are a few ways to keep the 12v active.
Still Porsche should really address this issue.

Thanks again!

Your welcome, I am glad the process worked. Hopefully others will follow it and report back.

It has to be a bug. No way would Porsche designed it this way and still sold owners this trickle charger. Plus its hit or miss that the work around actually works which means its a faulty system.
When you say it shuts off, what does the charger show?

It only shows the bottom left green light. If I cycle it to Lithium it appears to kick on and shows the battery at 3/4 full for about 10 seconds then it appears to flash and turns off to the single green light again

charged it full but there is still a "ALERT" notification for low battery to the right of the speedometer. Any idea how to clear the notification? Low gas notification goes away after you add gas. Not so with the battery.

Have you run the car for 20-30 mins after alert displayed?

Yes. Been driving it for over a week and multiple hours as well. Starts fine.

Notification still pops up every time I get in and start it, stays on while driving. I have to call the dealer. Too lazy.

4 days later and mine is now doing almost the same thing.
power light on.
press mode to lithium.
battery light comes one 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 then flashes once.
Then only power light on.
Tried locking and unlocking the car, no change.
Something must be going on with the computer controlling the battery.

My experience with this situation is that the battery is fully charged and thus the charger does not enter the "float" mode.
If you leave your battery one week without any attempt to charge it (thus discharging it slightly), then when you next connect the charger, the charging process will start normally, the charger will cycle through the different lights in about 4 hours and will end with the "float" green light lit, and remaining lit.

I thought this may be the case. The bummer is that when I depart for my summer home for the summer, the car will remain on the charger for months. As such, it will be necessary to connect directly to the battery using the alligator clips. My local Porsche dealer got the clips for me. The charge-o-mat pro did not come with them.

Connect directly to the battery and be done with this nonsense.

An even better idea drive it everyday like me and you never need to charge it!

I leave my 992 on the Porsche Charge-O-Mat Pro 2½ months in the summer; I connect them via the "passenger footwell connector" of the car and just make sure that, when I leave, the charger is in "float" mode.
You are right concerning the "alligator clips" for said charger; they are an "additional option" to the charger!
