Default Considering 992 Turbo

Hello guys ,
my friend and I were shopping for 992 . I have a 718 gts and prior to that 991.14s cab . My friend has a 991.1 base and he is getting the 992 carerra

I have to be honest and for some reason , I never got the thrill when test drove 992 s variants. I prefer the 991.2 S with rear axle steering and spasm

I am considering the 992 turbo due to all the positive reviews but never test drove one . I want to keep it under 190k so it will be 992 turbo in gt silver/gentian/ white with sport text interior and few options such as premium package , PSE, sunroof, ACC and sound insulating glass . I like the belts , tachometer and sport chrono in yellow but I guess it will clash with red calipers , may be I can get them painted black as I don’t want to paint yellow when they are not PCCB

DID ANY ONE GET THE 992 Turbo delivered or waiting for allocations ?

I think there have been a few base Turbo's delivered. Looks like a great car with more than 9/10's of capability compared to the S. What's really interesting is that if you want to tune it down the road, you can likely get the same or better power from the Turbo as comes stock in the S. Easily. And at a huge cost discount. Not a bad way to go.

There have been a few delivered on here.

I did a big thread on this car and eventually moved to a TTS. If you can get 100% of what you want at/under $190k, then I think it's a great way to go.

The TT is designed to provide 90% of the performance at 85% of the cost. So, obviously, you'll want to keep an eye on the bottom line. Otherwise, it stops making sense.

If you are prone to FOMO (fear of missing out) or are struggling to keep it under $190k, or really want those PCCBs (all were true for me), then you might find the TTS is ultimately where you end up

I got mine delivered and Im super happy! My Turbo has everything the turbo s has except center lock wheels, PCCB and the extra 60-70hp and it’s in gt silver!
I drove the turbo s and turbo (aggressively) on both highways and curvy roads. Honest to God I didn't see a difference, that extra HP and PCCB come into play on a track I guess when you want to get that perfect lap, but for me a weekend/good weather driver guy I don't see a difference at all.
Some point in the future I can tune it, change the exhaust/intake and I’m at 710hp if i’d like/want to get turbo s numbers. I think that only really experienced drivers on a race track can tell the difference.

P.S added some delivery pics, car is now getting a full xpel stealth ppf done and had to much fun to take any pics 😂

I received an allocation for a Turbo. The dealer got the allocation in 12/22/20 and the delivery date is supposed to be 6/18/21. I only wanted a turbo because it is the only car I can get optioned the way I wanted. The Turbo S comes with a lot of standard options and the non S allows you to delete a lot of these options which I did not want.

Im still waiting for my allocation for the Turbo. Apparently this week. My latest thoughts re colours are jet black metallic on black with chalk stitching. You can have the red brake calipers painted black (which is what I would do). Yellow seat belts, yellow tach and perhaps yellow sport chrono to give it more of a sporty feel. I would get the glass sunroof, Lane Change Assist and Front Axle lift as options. This would keep it under the budget you are thinking (190k US).

Ivan, beautiful spec! Im debating which rims to get. But looking at your turbo I'm leaning towards keeping the standard rims!!

it’s one of those things which are hard to take a pic of as it looks way better in RL then in person.

I'm in the same boat but a year or two out. I'm still in love with my current 911 but I'm always looking for new love; it's kind of fun as I'm sure all you motörheads can appreciate. Before I go on, I'm not here to start a TT vs. TTS thread. We all know the TTS is the halo car.
When it's my time, I may go with "just" a TT. I think the important question that you have to ask yourself is: 1) What are you going to use this 911 for? 2) Are you going to track it? 3) Do you want/need all the extra goodies of the TTS (ie. PDCC, ceramic brakes, etc.)? 4) Do you want bragging rights? Performance wise, the TTS is 0.1 seconds faster to 60 and 1/4 mile according to Porsche. Is that important to you? Food for thought: 992 Turbo numbers are similar to that of the 991.2 Turbo S, FYI. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only engine component difference between the TTS vs. TT are the turbos (smaller turbos on the TT). As previously mentioned, a simple ECU tune will put the TT on par with or even surpass TTS performance numbers, I would assume. On both variants, modding and tuning potential is/will be to one's heart's content, I'm sure.
As for me, I'm not a fan of PDCC and PCCB. If I'm going to track the car a lot, I would not especially want PCCBs mainly for cost. This is a whole different discussion so I'll leave at that. If money is an issue, whether you can't or won't, that's totally up to you. If having the halo car is a priority, then get the Turbo S. Things change all the time but at this point, I think a Turbo is what I would choose. Ask me tomorrow and I'll probably be looking at an Audi R8!

TT is a bargain. BTW, I wouldn't pay for the center locks in TTS which is PITA.

Not many US non S Turbos yet. I was told 175 total for NA in 2021. Mine arrives in April. Good luck finding a 2021.

I think center locks are a thing of beauty - one big lug nut or 5 small ones, you choose. It just takes the right tool. To each his own.

Agree - I've had center locks before - and with the right tools they are just as easy as 5 lugs.

Funny - but I just pick the wheel design I like best - and don't really care if they are center locks or not. Whatever the case I'm ready for either.

My 911 Turbo was just built on 2/5 with an expected delivery around 3/19. Never really considered a TTS mostly b'c of the cost but unfortunately I got dangerously close to TTS territory with a 194K build. I went with all the performance options except for the PCCB's so that kind of did it for me. Thought of moving up at that point but I am leasing and the Turbo has the benefit of a higher residual which helped make the payment slightly less ridiculous.

Originally had Night Blue with black and chalk stitching but switched the day before lock in to CW with bordeaux/black. Counting the days (39)!
