992.2 GT2RS Discussion
Funnily there is no discussion for the halo 992 car so let’s do it here.
I understand there are lot of doubters that this car might launch and also runors that has been cancelled. I personally do not have such info.
So any info or opinions on this?

My local relationship manager mentioned that there is no new information on the 2RS and they haven't been any NDAs or anything sent around to even get any information. He thinks its a 1H25 announcement at the earliest but very much YMMV.

I have no doubt that Porsche will find a way to extract another $500k from some lucky folks before the end of the VIP program.

People usually know a few model generations ahead of time of the cars. This kind of tells you some insight into the future of this car - aka does it even exist.

I would be surprised if Porsche did not make it. They have turbo engines with huge power potential and they already have big electric turbos - two from GTS could be good for close to 900+HP. That would be killer in a GT2 RS. Of course, it would probably be impossible to make it fit within "Lambda = 1" vision, which may be a barrier.

How do you manage 900+ HP with RWD? At some point, it will need to be AWD. . .

It's a bigger shame than Stanford not being able to face USC every year now.

R&D costs and lineup cannibalization have to be factored in. By the same token, why does porsche never produce enough GT3s or GT3RS to meet demand? Aren't they leaving money on the table there too vs selling standard carreras or non-S turbos? It's not all about money.

Yeah, it sucks that SC doesn't place Stanford or Cal anymore. Would have been nice if they included those 2 as non conference games.

Yep, and McLaren P1 and Hennessy F5 (over 1,800 with Manual and RWD).
Pagani, Aston-Martin and Koeniggsegg have some monster RWD cars too.
I’m sure other examples too…

Modified MKIV Supras were running 1500rwhp back in the day. It wasn’t on street tires, but they were street legal tires.
