Default Harness bar minimal roll bar

Id like something that I can wrap a harness around for Hans and keep my *** in the seat.
Its not for flipping over, don't care.

They exist for 992?

Plenty of options out there for 992, I went with GMG for the bar and Schroth for the harnesses and I like it a lot.

Do a search and you will find quite a bit of information on the options.

I don't think he was asking about a half cage.

Don't get me wrong, wasn't endorsing it. I have no idea if it's any good. I'm going with the GMG WEC half cage myself. Just providing the info the original poster requested.

I would have preferred a simple harness-only bar like this if it existed at the time. I almost just had one made myself but in the end went with a BBi bar.

I figure it needs rear seat belt anchor points, I guess there is no other way then to weld in plates, even with a half assed harness bar.

When I was looking to make it, I was just going to use the same shock tower mounting stud area that all the 992 bars use, and bring the plate stock straight out through the carpet there, and attach a horizontal bar between the two plates.

Peter

Let me know what you figure out as I would like to do the same. Roll bar kills rear seat storage area so that's a non starter.

I installed one in my 991.2 GT3 a while back and also I installed one in a friends 992 GT3 and there was nothing that was missing as far as attachment points or any issues whatsoever.

Hmm, the 991.2 GT3 has the threaded bosses on the intermediate shelf, but the 992 GT3 (at least mine) did not and the holes were no longer threaded. That FVD harness bar bolts to the shock tower and then has an additional diagonal kicker (with the circular holes) that goes from the bar down to the intermediate shelf with holes presumably for screwing it in, but there are no longer threaded holes there on the 992. My friend that bought the 991.2 GT3 FVD bar (looks identical to that one) had to omit this diagonal structure on his 992 because it couldn't be fully attached.

When you installed it on the 992, were you able to attach it to the intermediate shelf? Looks like they now list the 992 GT3 on the application list so they must have addressed it in some way after all even though the kit looks identical. If it all bolts up as designed, then I would agree it likely fits the bill for a simple harness bar for those that want one.

I honestly don't remember the specifics but I know everything bolted up properly. There were no attachment points that were omitted.
