New oil for the GT engines

C40GT oil change on GT4RS @ 1500 miles
I bought 12 quarts from Suncoast. Yesterday i had my Porsche dealer change the oil on my GT4RS @ 1500 miles using Mobil 1 C40GT. First they did an oil/filter change , drove the car around the block to bring it up to temp, and then did an oil change (no filter) in order to get most of the original oil out. So now there should be approx 75% C40GT in the car. I will likely change the oil every 1500 miles the same way (double oil change).

Thanks for the information.
Did they charge you for two oil changes?
You should check out the thread I’m linking below — it may infest you and others. Informative from the beginning, but check out especially my post 129 as well as post #87.
You really need to do three drains and three fills to get the engine oil to flush out. Three drains means you’re flushing it twice.

Here is a picture of my three drains.
from left to right: first drain, second drain (first flush), third drain (second flush), virgin fluid. This was on a new Spyder RS with 1,400 miles.
Keep in mind after the third drain (shown by tube 3 of 4 from left), I added engine oil for the third and final time; so the engine oil would be even better than the oil shown in the third test tube.

None of this is necessary, so not sure why you’re going down that rabbit hole. Overkill? That’s debatable — I’d call it improving towards achieving the desired result, which again is our choice and not a necessity. As you can see, a second drain doesn’t do much to change the consistency. You’re free to do whatever you like, and no one is telling you what to do; but many of us spent lots of time on this project trying to help others, and I was trying to help by sharing my results.

Was wondering if they charged you additional labor because at the first free oil change I could use that information so I know what to expect. (Naturally you paid for the oil.)

You've made your point, haven’t you?
This is an enthusiasts’ discussion about nerdifying our engine oil changes - we aren’t discussing the merits of factory procedure versus going the extra mile; that’s an endless rabbit hole. Some people choose not to be nerds about this, and that’s just fine.

Don’t you think the other guy was grumpy? He was the one who kept repeating himself and saying how crazy we are. I’m not grumpy, just sharing what I learned while others and I are discussing a topic which he says is “insane.”

I just hit 30,000 miles with the old OEM approved oil so I think you will be fine. It does seem to burn a quart about every 5-6000 miles or so
its an important topic, but I am amazed to see 20,000+ views on this thread.
