It's simple and doesn't need speculation, let the dealer complete the diagnose - then discuss.

If engine blows, the whole thing may shut down. Did the check oil light come on? Any other warnings on the dash?

Just in case some of you missed this thread :

https://rennlist.com/forums/992-gt3-...ver-rev-7.html

Same scenario except the over rev, everything dead,no power : 2 jump packs later,2 cars attached for boost, engine starts and dies. Later in the thread found engine locked up solid.

Yes, the engine died and the power went off, but when I replaced the engine with a new one at the dealership we used the same battery as we charged it. I'm still using it every day.

the battery woke up when we put the charger on it. it's like a safe mode for the battery, but there is no reason for it to happen for the OP car.

4000rpm in 3rd is like 80km/h? You can't overrev at 80km/h thats like 6500-7000 in 2nd or 9000 in 1st.

I agree regarding the OP's car : hopefully it's not a locked up engine since he didn't over rev the engine.
My point is,unfortunately engines can lock up even if there's no external factor : a component failure, manufacturer defect etc.
Also my point is,regarding the complete electrical failure : a starter motor draws about 200 amps on an engine start. Now imagine a starter motor trying to spin a locked up engine or partially locked up engine : it will draw A LOT more amps. Could be a safety feature built in to cut the power somehow when that happens. Maybe boosting the power with an external power source can cause that starter motor to overcome the locked up position of the engine and make it spin again a few more rotations, hence why it started a bit and then died again. Regardless,it will lock up again...
I'm really hoping that is not the case with the OP's car : in case it is,that's what warranties are for...

Default Problem found

Apologies if I missed it, but what was found by dealer? I had the same thing happen today while doing a cool down lap at the track w my 22 GT3 PDK in auto mode. Mines at the dealer now waiting to be diagnosed.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about your motor issue. Mine was found to be lack of lubrication to the #1 crank journal, but unfortunately it never went any more in depth as in what caused the lack of lubrication. I posted pics of the damaged crank journal in GT3 forum, if you want me send them to you, let me know. I will looking for more info on your car as things unfold, and if you have any questions, hit me up

Welcome to the club. There seems to a defect or installation error with the crank bearing lubrication. My #4 bearing seized up, normal driving 1000 miles, manual, 2024. I’m still waiting for a new engine.
What year is your car?

Here is the link to my update with pics. My car is a manual 24 Touring. It failed at exactly 1000 miles on January 1st. If your car has the lithium ion battery with the 3rd wire connection, you will want to hook it up to a charger/maintainer while your car is down. After the new motor was installed in my car, my battery failed and it took an extra week or two to come up with a new one.. Ill be looking out for updates on your car.

Thanks for the extra details both of you. It seems we are 4 owners (so far who have posted here) who had exact same situation with ~1000 miles with the exception of this other person (link below) who faced it with 2200 miles. Two 2024 and two 2022, manual and PDK. The engine rattles for a little bit then just dies with no power and the crank seizes up.
This definitely is not a one off situation and either a problem with a part or installation. I’m leaning to a defective part for crank bearing lubrication.

May car failed on March 4 and dealer is going thru all steps Germany is asking them. It’s a very slow process, picture of my seized bearing.
I am hoping for a new engine confirmation at this time but am not sure if this will reoccur again with the new engine. Porsche Germany seems to be taking it slow to figure out why this happening and how widespread can this be and does it require a service bulletin or recall with the defective parts. It’s costing Porsche a pretty penny here with these engines blowing up.
What other info has your dealer shared with you so far?
