Default MY2024: Differences

I have read and heard that prior year GT3 models have auto start stop. My 2024 GT3 doesn’t seem to have it. It’s not in the menu and driving around in normal mode it has never kicked in on me. Did prior year models have it? If not then it seems like I got lucky and they didn’t add it to my car.

Another change that I have found from MY22 is the Bose woofers are now not only bolted to the door, but they use adhesive to keep it on as well. So removing the door woofer for panel access is no longer a simple job.

Anyone notice any other changes?

Not sure if this is 2024, or just later builds but the oil plug is plastic now. Noticed this last night when I ordered a filter kit.

I noticed no start/stop on my 24 which is awesome. Also, the bose in my car sounds really good. Better than I thought it should.

I thought it was MY2023, but it’s definitely prior to MY2024…

Yeah, I believe it was MY-2023 for the oil plug.

This was changed on all cars produced after Jan 27th 2022 with all engines after number DRM 004177. It's also not just the plug (p/n 9GT115373B) but the oil pan was changed from carbon fiber to plastic (p/n 9GT115647B)

Even in normal mode your car doesn't have auto start/stop? Could you take a photo of the car settings menu? My '24 has auto start/stop so I always remember to start the car in sport mode. I wonder if this is a dealer programmable setting.

Thanks for the date! I believe the tank has remained CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) before and after the cut-over.

I assume you were talking about the oil tank and not the oil pan on the engine itself (not technically a pan being dry sump, but they call it that in the workshop Manual)?

Yes.

Also, all that information I posted came off of the tech bulletin that you posted over a year ago. lol.

Funny Just to get deep in the weeds, I think that bulletin's date is when they first updated the metal drain and tank (to the part numbers ending in "B" for each). But they later changed the drain (to a plastic plug) and a new CFRP tank that mates only to the plastic plug.

Just to complicate matters, someone with a 4RS (same engine) posted a new leak here:

Anything different between 23 and 24 RS? Besides the $20K price increase?
