Need help and guidance regarding RS allocation

Those lists are not honored at all specially for these types of cars. They can tell you that you're nth on the list but you never know if it's true or not. It's all decided by the general manager at the end of day. As your dealership general manager changed, this definitely would cause the list to become void, because the new guy wants to bring his own people. But here are some options you can try:
1. Pay a good ADM; there is a guy on this forum called CJ who's a fixer and can find you an RS. But he's a bit expensive and you have to pay min 150k.
2. Start advocating for dealerships and give a thumbs up for all their posts on this forum. You have to spend a lot of time for that tho but this has been proved to be working by @L2_ONBOARD who's claiming to be able to eventually secure a spot for 2027 build with this method after he got rejected by all the dealerships in the country. This comes with an ADM too but slightly less than step 1.
Good luck

OP you're coming up on a lot of new realities that have manifested since you originally put your deposit down for a 992 RS before the 991.2 RS was released.
So many things have changed and so many msrp dealers are no more, either because there's just too much money to be made in ADMs or because they sold cars at MSRP to their regulars only to see them flip them. There are very few msrp across the board dealers, some of them them are max ADM all the time others have different relationships with different customers that go from max adm to no adm and anywhere in-between. It should also be noted that when forging said relationships, what dealers tend to value more isn't necessarily how many cars you buy from them but how many of those cars you give back to them.
I wish any of us had an answer for you that would yield a satisfactory solution, but the cold fact is without having signed a letter of agreement at the time of deposit you are now back to square one. I do agree with those who say to just go in there and talk to them, perhaps offer them your GT car in a trade if you still have it, appeal to the fact that you did have a previous agreement, obviously mention your purchase history, and maybe they'll give you more consideration than someone who just walks off the street.
Good luck.

and this is the reality across the country not only in Northern California
when they can get 100 k plus on an RS, it is difficult to leave that money on the table
a friend just texted me today that a dealer offered him an RS allocation for 150 k above sticker. I replied the car is not worth it , and that is coming from a guy who owned both 991.1 and 991. 2 RS .They are great cars but not 450 k cars by any stretch of imagination
there is still some money flowing around from Covid days , but this will ultimately filter through the system and credit is tightening from the banking system , and as production resumes to normal levels , dealers will be back appreciating us as customers

My suggestion is buy a GT3 at ADM to get something started. Then stay committed to give that car back to them to sell when you get an RS spot. Sell cars for the dealership. Spend time with the sales staff at C&C and events. It’s all about the relationships you create. Being genuine and yourself will pay off at some point I can promise you that.
good luck.

Really appreciate the insight.
What I am hearing from you and others is that Porsche is redefining itself as a brand. It is becoming an article of trade and commodity more than a thing to use and enjoy.
I was already on the fence whether the RS worth the ridiculous, almost 300k price they put on it. I personally do not need the RS. Let all of you collectors have it.
I drive my GT3 at the track and enjoy it. Sometimes I drive my BRZ at the track and enjoy more. Porsche can take the RS and shove it... why would I delete this post?
Edit: again thank you for your thoughtful comment. The bitterness in this post is not directed to you at all.

I cant imagine that being on a "list" really means much of anything, especially at Marin.
There are dealers in the Bay Area that will auction a GT car off to the highest ADM bidder located in the backyard of Google and they dont care what kind of previous "relationship" you've had with them. Ask me how I know.

How do you know? Which dealership? When I came to the Bay Area, I lived in Anton Menlo for 2 months. It's exactly located in front of Porsche Redwood City, so I stopped there quite often. This was before Covid, they had kind of the highest markup on used/new car that you could imagine at that time. And the salespersons working there were old and didn't know much about Porsche.

It's pretty obvious who the dealer is that Im talking about. I know, because I bought a 981 GT4 with 1200 miles on it with no over-revs with CPO from them in late 2017. My sales guy was great. But when it came time for a GT4RS, I was told that I would have to participate in a "blind" auction.
pretty sure it’s all of them

It’s very difficult to understand the mindset and entitlement of people to get hot selling cars when they have very little buying experience relative to all the customers that a Porsche dealership has (I know you understand this but many others don’t seem to want to understand this )….
If dealers actually told customers how far behind they are others in buying /profitability then they’d understand but not people on these forums it seems ….

Porsche dealers average 400 brand new car sales per year ….. 5 to 6 years have gone by since your last purchase with this dealer and it was a used car .

And how many of those 400 Porsches sold annually at U.S. dealerships are GT cars?
A.) To my knowledge, they conducted a "blind" auction for EVERYONE ... including longstanding clients.
B.) I obtained an allocation for a 2023 GT3 Touring that I got to spec last Fall from a local dealer in my hometown that I've never purchased a car from at HALF THE ADM of what "they" were getting in their "blind" auction for a GT4RS. I developed a friendship over the years with my SA (who has professional athletes as clients) and contrary to others at other dealerships, his WORD was of VALUE.
C.) I'm a former commodity floor trader in #4 WTC that embraced an "open-outcry" auction type process that was fully TRANSPARENT for 10 years in which I risked my own capital everyday. For obvious reasons, I dont do "blind" auctions.
D.) Just because a dealer is in the backyard of Google doesnt mean that Google employees are willing to bend over for a GT car with no lube.
Know anyone at Google who used to buy from this dealership but no longer does?
I do.
E.) Ask Mooty what he thinks of this dealership.
F.) Thanks for your input. It was most enlightening.

Thanks for the advice…
Part of the reason I am posting here is to find out what few of the veteran GT owners in NorCal that dealt with Porsche Marin know. What is going on with them, any of you guys had transactions with them recently?
they used to pride themselves for being a msrp dealer that followed the deposit list.

I did write the CEO of Indigo on a matter with their Audi dealership - and got a personal reply. I'd try that - PCNA doesn't have any pull with their dealers nor impact on their practices in my experience.

992 GT3 I paid sticker and my car arrived #1 before the dealer owner (purely by fluke.)
992 GT3RS sticker again and I received #1 allocation and deferred to a later build date so I could spec carbon ceramics. My order slot just came back and looks like I’ll get PTS (lucky again.) - Brewster green.
I do not call all over the country
same dealer for 15 years
they are amazing people
I don’t put down deposit
they just call me when the car arrives and I hand write a check for it. No funds verification, we trust each other after 15 years.
I bring my cars back to them when I’m done and they pay fair wholesale value. They maximize profits as that’s their core business. Fair trade, those are my guys.
OP - sorry again that happened to you, it’s really ****. Porsche is cracking down on the markups by pulling allocations from the bad actors. Stay in the game, you’ll get one.
And hey, at least you’re not Leo. Count your blessings.
see ya on the road ✌️
