2024 GT3

FYI - I recently received an allocation for a GT3 Winged car about a month ago. The build date is 9/1/23 and it has a delivery date of late October. It is classified as a MY2024 car. I'm looking forward to meeting other GT3 owners in SoCal later this year, and I really can't wait to do a few track days each year, as well.
Cheers,
Rich

I really really hope the next one is quieter. The GT4 RS lost ecoty this past year in small part because it's too loud to enjoy (though mostly because the suspension is too stiff for UK roads).

It is interesting, as a couple people here assured me there would be no more allocations after January of this year, and then said the same in Feb, and doubled down on it in March. Two local dealerships who have in the past few months explained the scarcity of the remaining 992 GT3s have now told me that there is now a possibility of calendar year 2024 production throughout the entire year. They said the official word from Porsche is "maybe" as of last week.

I’ll just say this. There is no magic way for Porsche to increase 911 production. They still haven’t built all the Dakar cars and there are a few Sport Classics that are trickling in. Not to mention the T, S, GTS, Turbos etc that are backlogged from 2022, yes 2022 comm # are not built yet.
Porsche is moving up market, less is more type thing. We will look back and see what we always thought we would see with 992.1 GT3 production v. 991.2, which was about the same numbers. The only thing that changed was demand.
So when a dealer says they have a 2023 or a 2024 car, that’s the same car they said they were going to get last year, just made now.

99% of the time, dealers are last to know anything. You might get a few principles who make an effort to stay as informed as possible, but for the most part dealers are now franchised owned who only car about quarterly allocation to determine potential profit margins. Most money is made in the fixed costs service areas.

I don’t think he rolls out of bed and thinks: “is there anything remotely news worthy I should share with Shrimp Money the anonymous window washer on rennlist?”
