CEO Oliver Blume confirmed, hybrid sticker on test mule, videos running on silent. It makes total sense to develop the new hybrid system for both Turbo S and GT2RS as they always has since the 993 using the turbo motor for the GT2 lineup.

If true, it seems like the lap record/bragging rights car. Track car does not need as much power, and road car does not need as much aero. 296GTB seems like a better option for a road car and 3RS for a track car. Of course, this will be much faster than either on track if lap times are the main goal. But with that power and weight, I don't want to think about the tire budget for those who really drive it hard - a set per day?

If you go to the 20 minute and 17 second mark you will see the Porsche board with two times
R 6:54.34 (20.8km or full)
S 6:49.656 (20.6km or short or sport auto).
Here is the on board footage, here you can see three times displayed - full (NSL), bridge to gantry (BTG) and sport auto
Will be very interesting to see the weight of the 992 GT2 RS hybrid.
Also the 296GTB is a very impressive car as a comparison, particularly given its around 3s per minute quicker round a track than a 992 GT3 and yet remains a great road car.

Not going to happen. 991 GT2 RS is already 691 hp. New iterations of turbos get huge increase in power. Only NA cars get 5hp-15hp increase. At 700 it would not even compete with a 720s from years back let alone a 765lt which should be its real target. They are going to go big and with all the new aero it will crush records easily. Dangerous on track? You have control with loud pedal just like the the Turbos S you modulate and when you can eventually go full throttle it will be mega.

I would agree with this, the 2RS does not need a lot more power, what it needs IMO is the Aero from the 992GT3RS and the 992 Chassis, look just how fast the 992GT3RS was round Silverstone 2.08s and this on stock set up with 530 Bhp, like 300bhp down on the Slower SENNA round there.
Put them on standard CUP2....................................

The biggest issue is/are going to be emissions regs...not getting more power from the car tech wise. Literally zero of this matters if they are against that emissions wall...so they nearly have to go turbo hybrid or just hybrid for these if they are going to see anything impressive power wise.
