GT2RS 'MR is 6:43 vs 6:35 Amg
6:38 is sport auto version, a bit shorter track. So comparing apples to apples, there is a gap of 9s to cover, I wouldn't say it isn't possible and take into consideration new tires to come in the mean time and the fact that this track only gets faster year after year as works are done

No interest. Sounds cool but whats the point? My 2 week old TTS is the fastest car I owned and it has another important aspect that it is the quickest car I am selling after having owned it. You get on the gas and you are at 100 mph in 2 seconds. It is so quick that it is not fun. My RS is plenty fun, I’d argue that even that is too fast but at least it provides pleasure even at lower speeds and rpm ranges. I cant imagine how much more pointless cars like 720S, artura, 296 GTB must feel other than to flex your muscles and feed your ego.
GT3 is so good that to replace the TTS, I’m looking to buy a 6 speed GT3 to pair with my RS.

Such a car would be meant for lap records and collectors. Too expensive and dangerous to run on track (due to lack of race car safety systems, yet crazy speed), and not as good on the road as a Turbo S.
These manufacturers are going farther and farther into the realm of making cars that make no sense for the sake of saying that their halo car is the fastest.
991 GT3 is more than fast enough on the track, and you can drive them on the road without getting beat up or looking like an attention seeker.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Sport Auto drivers are 5-10seconds slower than factory drivers, and that is ok.. as they(sport-auto) might pay for that car is damaging it, they have limited experience with that specific car and they lack factory support, etc.

Don't spam this thread with this nonsense... go get a taxi lap in the GT2RS MR and then let"s talk about how good that 991 gt3 is... and on another topic.. the regular gt2rs vs tts ... isn't that much of a difference for street.. but what do I know?!
Lack of race car safety systems ... wow... installl a Recaro seat and extend the cage to the front, is this good enough for you? Thats how porsche runs for records, but what do they know?!

The new chassis from the 992 GT3 RS (with big aero and DRS) teamed with huge power and torque will be formidable (if not the most nimble and tossable model). The electric torque-fill will even improve responsiveness of the powertrain to go with big output increases. This is the perfect model to have hybrid, if a 911 has to have it.
Conversely the 3RS would benefit significantly from torque fill given it's powerband, rendering the car faster on track and more enjoyable to drive on the street. It's also some 200bps lighter than the 2RS.

IMO, next GT2 RS simply needed to be a 992 GT3 RS with a TTS engine turned up to get about 700 hp.

Sport auto Nring - was reffered as 20.6km version even in some discussions regarding Porsche/other brands professional drivers lapping the ring.

That GT2RS MR video - Wow, that's crazy fast. Way above my driving skill level. (I'm still mastering my 992 TTS) If anyone can build a faster car, Its Porsche. After all, they will only release the next GT2RS if its better/faster than the current one. Many didn't expect much from the current GT3RS given it's similar power/torque numbers compared to the previous GT3RS. Yet Porsche surprised everyone by going in a different direction - AERO to achieve incredible performance improvements. I look forward to seeing what Porsche offers in their next GT2RS even if I can't afford one. I'm sure the new TTS will be great too. Different perhaps, yet better.

As the 992.2 Turbo S is confirmed to be a hybrid, I am not surprised the new GT2RS will be based on the new hybrid powertrain. With the Turbo S pretty certainly being close to 700 range (992.1 640hp), I think the GT2RS will be in the high 700 to 800s to compete with track versions of 296, Artura and maybe the Vahalla. 3400-3500lb, 800HP is pretty much the next gen supercar baseline which Porsche should intend to enter to compete and pass European emission regulations, or else the only competitor will be the MC20...
With 963 and 919 Leman hybrid technology in the new GT2RS should be the most advanced, powerful and flagship of the 911 range. 700+ hp engine with 100+ hp electric motor makes sense to me.

Where do you see the TTS being confirmed at 992.2 hybrid? It is safe to assume, if this RS is hybrid, it is based off the TTS power plant, but this is all rumor at this point... ?
