Adam LZ GT3....bought on Copart to live again...

It’s going to be very hard to fix it, with Porsche dealers not willing to sell him structural pieces. The double wishbone front suspension is shot, so he won’t be able to take the front tub from a non GT3 992 to fix it. The cast aluminum parts are cracked. I don’t think any old backyard welder can weld cast aluminum and add on more metal. But we will see. Seeing the 992 dash ripped out was interesting.

It’s got 610k views in 8 hours. So yes YouTube will pay him some money, but not as much as you think. Given the damage to the front tub and suspension I can see why it was totaled. The nicked carbon brake disc is also going to be pricey. Even with him doing most of the work…perhaps not the iffy welding of the chassis…getting the parts alone he will have close to 300k in it, if he can fix ir. But yes it’s better to find a flooded GT3 and swap his motor and wiring harness with interior into a flooded but stripped chassis.

Not sure why it matters how much it’s going to cost him. He dropped 160k on it no problem. He didn’t go to woodside and get a 15yr note on it. On top of that, most of the cost on this type of repair is labor. Which is him and technically he’s getting paid for the content. So far those two video have probably generated him 20k. That doesn’t include the car vertical ad he throws in. What do you think they are paying him? What would you pay to get a million views in 2 days for your company?
he’ll be fine.
he’ll be fine.

It says in the video the title is clean, it's not branded as a salvage. He will have no problems insuring it but the accident will be clearly detailed in the car's history report.

Btw, he has a second YouTube channel with some of the “behind the scene” footage and commentary. It looks like it’s getting just as many views.
I watched his videos on the Cayman. His work was a good watch.
I anticipate he will turn out a great product.

I wonder if he sends it back to the UK after it’s fixed up or sell it here in the US. His Caymen build was fun to watch and when he was done he took it to his local Porsche dealer to have the tech inspect his work. For the most part the tech said it was fine with just a few body panel gaps out of spec.

In the second channel video, the other guy explains that in the US Porsche only sells to authorized Porsche repair shops, but that he could source what they need.
