Should I wait or pull the trigger on a used 992 GT3
Hi I’m new on the forum. I’ve been looking for new or a lightly used GT3 with PDK. I found a couple with carbon exterior and roof. Ceramic brakes .
MSRP was 220k. Roughly 1600 miles. Dealers want 300k. I find 80 k over MSRP on a used car high.
Should I wait it out ir just pay the price? Should I expect to be able to broker a discount?
thanks

First thing you should do is read this forum. Too many others have been in your situation. Make up your own mind. Don't expect others to do it for you.

If you’re willing to pay $300k, you can find a brand new one at that price with delivery miles.

Just ask yourself this...do you think car prices are going up or heading down?

Depends. How bad do you want the car? 80k over on used car you did not spec is a high price for some especially when there are 140 plus cars some unsold for months and prices have been gradually coming down. If you have to have it now and 80k is just a number then go for it. Life is short.
I have placed a deposit for allocation for .1 or .2 and agreed to a dealer I’ve done business with 25k ADM. That was my price. So for used car I would have to find my spec 205k + 25K ADM throw in another 5k for gotta have it now since I’m old and my price is 235k for used with 95% of my spec, under 2k miles and I’ll pull the trigger. If I don’t get my price I’ll walk on the deal. Decide your price and stick to it.
Only you can decide what is your price and not a forum.

With the market the way it is I’m not sure I would pay that much over. When I placed my Tecnica order (no allocation yet) I agreed to a $35k ADM. As of now I’m second guessing whether I want to pay that or not when I get the call. Like the GT3, it will be one of the last NA cars - maybe that will be worth something in the future, maybe not. I agree with one of the posts above. You may find one at a dealer for similar or less than what you’re looking at with only delivery miles on it.

Will prices go down the next year for a 991.2 or a 992 GT3.? Yeah they'll probably go down slightly but to compare a GT3 with the car market in general is misguided imo. GT3's are above the fray. Not only that but supply doesn't appear to be getting any better. Wait a year to save $10-15K, and that's a maybe.

I know people have been paying 75-100k on builds or even dealer spec’ed cars on the lot. I haven’t found any with only delivery miles.
I’ve seen most with 1000-3000 miles. Clearly I’d prefer to get one under 1000 miles but I haven’t seen many.

You will see delivery mile cars on Porsche finder. Dealers will post new inventory there, it will be listed at MSRP, just call and ask them what ADM they are looking for. You can get new cars well optioned w PDK for +$50K. Any one still paying $100K over is just lazy. Im not sure where you are looking, but there are dozens of cars listed under 1,000 miles.

If it's the dream car, get the best deal you can and enjoy. If in the market now I'd shoot for a CPO around the 250 mark. Looks achievable https://www.porschearlington.com/cer...088652cae1.htm
In the secondary market, skip the high spec options that currently support big list prices but don't make much of a material difference to ownership, e.g., carbon roof. The CPO'd manual linked above is the same car for 50k less than your dealer's ask. 2c. (Know you're looking for pdk, should be able to find an equal or better deal on one of those near-term.)
