The Sport classic would’ve been a better comparison. Both turbo, both limited, both overpriced

I am a big fan of the M3/M4 and have owned E36, E36, and E90 M3's. I still have my E90.
They are great daily drivers and the tech is much better than Porsche.
That said the BMW's are pigs! We are looking at around 400+ pound difference vs the GT3.

Agree, one is a sedan platform while the other is a purpose built sports car. Still, the CSL is pretty bada$$ and am glad BMW gave us such a thing.

Turbo engines do have an advantage on roll races due their fat power curves, there is no denying that.

However, the way CarWOW stages its races puts the GT3 at a disadvantage due to the selected gears and does not properly depict the performance difference between these two cars. The pull from 50mph in 3rd gear has the GT3 lugging at 4,300rpm, less than half of its redline and well below the meat of the power band. The result would have been different if the GT3 would have been in 2nd gear instead @ 5,900rpm. Even the 40mph pull would have been different if the GT3 would have been in 1st gear @ 7,500rpm. Not saying the GT3 would necessarily be in front, but at least there would much less gap.

CarWOW = Click bait

But the GT3 was ahead of the CSL in every standing start race. Can’t say it was all one sided.

Same. I did warm up to the F8X later in the run with the CS models. It was just the motor that was just a real mediocre piece. Do love me some M2cs though. Even the current M3 is starting to grow on me visually. But man that thing is porky

M2 CS is yummy. G80 M3 Sedan is growing on me too. Would kill for the wagon over here in the states.

Shame really. I am one of the few that spends on fast estates. Had an e63 and now a pana gts estate with too heavy of a build sheet. And I track mine on bad weather days. But there's dozens of us here in North America. I doubt the panamera and taycan will live on in estate form come next generation here in NA.

How is it poorly built? Seems like you have no first hand experience.
