992 GT3 Lacking Tech
Hey everyone, I am a new Porsche fan (Corvette convert) and I am still a bit away from getting a GT3 but I was looking at the technology options between the Turbo S and the GT3. I was trying to understand these cars better and I noticed that the Turbo S has a lot more technology options compared to the GT3.
I understand that the GT3 is the more track focused variant and I love that, but why arn't SOME (blind spot and surround view) technologies offered beyond just the Traffic Sign Recognition and Park Assist? I would think having SOME of the options along with a Fully Digital Dash and the suspension tweaking from the steering wheel of the new 992 GT3 RS (I know this is literally brand new) would be cool options for a refresh or even the next generation GT3.
Can someone help me understand this stuff better since I am new to all this, if I am simply asking too much for a track focused model. Especially if these are simply just options that people can choose to have or not to have.
Thanks!

I find 992 has way too much tech
I just need drivetrain, suspension, seat and steering wheel.

Ask your wife to drive if you need all that.

Why do you need a fully digital dash beyond what is there now? I don’t get what more you get and most digital dash configurations look horrendous - do people want to feel like they are in a video game while driving a car now too? If so, there are tons of “fast” EVs out there. I’ve said it on other threads but keeping the analog tach is one of the smaller things I respected about Porsche a lot though I’m sure this will be gone soon enough.

I have all of those things in my 992TTS. The only two I would want in the GT3 are the blind spot monitoring lights in the mirror and the 3D surround view for parking without hitting the front lip.

I’m never going slow enough to need any of those options.

I don't think the GT3 is for you. Just saying.

You can always bolt those this on, like aftermarket. check our rock auto, they have a cool jingle and you can get fuzzy dice too! (I know we are being mean, but its funny because the gt serries is just that, less is more)

Porsche is known for the drive.
Grant it PCM is a bit behind other marques of the same time.
If tech is your thing, MB and Audi could be more your thing.
My interpretation of the GT3 is a streetable track car. Don’t need all that tech on a track.
Turbo would be more of a trackable street car. You can have all the tech there. Maybe that would be a car more suitable for you.
Just my 2 cents.

Burning Brakes
The Gt3 is for driving, not travelling and demands your full attention making 'nannies' unnecessary

Just stick to vettes OP. A GT3 isn't for you.

I understand you all, and thanks for all your replies. I mentioned that I also understand that this is the track focused variant. I guess I was just asking why SOME of these technologies were not as options, main ones I was looking at were the blind spot monitoring, hud, digital dash, and surround view. Rest is all nice but not needed. Where I live people drive ridiculously and these are just nice to have as a support, I was simply trying to understand and wanted to point out that some of these might be cool options for people to have offered. I am from the smartphone generation so I am used to this kind of stuff... but I also appreciate the aggresiveness of what this car.

I wish they would get rid of all the stupid tech in the car. It’s all useless. Lane change assist? It’s called pay attention and drive. It’s all worthless. Just gimme the damn car.
