If you have a commission number with your name on it, then you should be guaranteed a car. However the only wildcard with these new shortages is when. You might still miss this summer driving season if the build date gets pushed back.

I wish you the best. I can’t comment if you have a commission # in your name if they can take it away. Maybe it’s a V070 or something, simply a dealer demand. Ask the big hard important questions. I neglected to do so. I messed up, I trusted them…..

You will get a Commission # with a V070 order demand. It is not an allocation, simply denotes interest to PAG.

You need to see the PSVMS and be at V200 (Delivery Date Determined)…with that you have an allocation.

All allocations have a planned build date that they should have shared

Thanks for the advise guys, you're all speaking a different language to me though truthfully. Is there anything I should ask them or what steps do you recommend I do? Thanks guys!!

I’m not sure I’d pre-trade my car in 3 months before your GT3 is supposed to be delivered.

If it were June 2019, maybe. There’s a chance you’re not going to see this 911 until after summer.

If the world is approaching end of days, then who cares, the dealer and PAG will have a bunch of canceled cars.

The sun will shine again though in the future. Might be canned sunshine though.

If I decline then they will just give my allocation away then correct? They constantly say if I'm not ready let them know as they have many other buyers. But I have a commission number if that means anything.

I don’t know what you agreed to in your deal for this GT3.

If you total the car tomorrow, is the deal with your dealer no longer valid?

If you have an actual allocation, your name is already on it with Porsche.

So if the allocation is in my name, I have some leverage than correct? Just trying to figure out how I should go about all of this. I have not signed anything with Porsche regarding my trade in, just verbal agreements.

In the current market unless you’re a VIP or the GM’s bestie you have ZERO leverage.

You’re options are:

1) Do exactly what the dealership asks you to & hope for the best.

2) Don’t and they’ll give away your allocation to someone else.

It’s a gamble & all depends on your dealership tbh. Some members here have pre-traded and got screwed, others (myself included) have pre-traded & everything has gone fine. If your dealership is going to screw you there’s no stopping it and only you can make the call whether you’re comfortable trusting them or not.

Commission number means nothing unless they can show the status of it - it could be nothing more than an order demand at this point as those generate a number but no actual build dates.

My understanding is that the commission number is an actual order and allocation that is committed to a customer. It's not an order demand. Any commission number can be looked up by the dealer or eventually on TYD to determine the status.

That's correct.

No commission number, no order, no allocation.

All true if past V070 status I believe? Someone should be able to add, I believe it has to be past that which confirms the dates and it is an actual build. I have a number for another model
Porsche but is in V070 so there are no dates or actual build yet.

V070 is a demand request. Waiting for an allocation to be assigned.

There's no actual order with PAG that they are working to build. It's just your dealer communicating to the mothership that they need an allocation for X customer.

It seems you’re following your build date on TYD. So, if you have a build date, an allocation, etc… you’re in much better shape than some of our previous posts have had us believe. That’s very good. Just to manage your expectations, sorry, but if your car hasn’t been built, the 3 month delivery is very unlikely. Being so far into the process, allocation, build date, and you should have a delivery date, I wonder how your dealer could pull your allocation, should you not turn in your car….
