I would assume it’s a prototype with the roll cage.

California DST Plates - There is no vin attached to these plates. These plates are distribution plates used for prototype and new built cars. It can be transferred from one care to another. It has a generic registration that’s transfers with the plate.
Plus we can't have roll cages from the factory in the US.

I set it up this way at first but my delivery was lining up to be in winter months (was Sept build pulled into Aug) so I decided not to collect in Germany. I can get it in PECLA tho, still thinking if it’s worth it. First thing I’m doing is getting it paint corrected, ppf'd and ceramic coated, like my other vehicles, and drive it everywhere hard like it should be driven.

You can easily apply this yourself as well, where normal PPF requires more skill/precision.

I'd say vast majority do this as well so a great solution if you want to drive your car home from a PEC is temporary PPF, or Tracwrap. I have a shop in Atlanta that will apply this to the S/T so I can drive it back to Texas where my PPF group can then do their thing when I get it there.

Visited Chris to weigh it for a story in 000, this before Chris and I went and weighed the other 991s and 992s we tested for that story. This car is on CA plates, but is a RoW car most likely already back in Germany. Pity about the CF half cage and RoW LED headlights, both of which are amazing but sadly illegal here.

This car was actually a "0000" prototype, thanks to a four-digit production run for the S/T.
