I own both the 991.2 3RS and 992 GT3 winged
992 is more complaint on the street
992 has more sharp turn in
991 is louder (up to 7k as i am still running in the engine on the 992)
991 has PCCB so intial brake bite is stronger than steels on the 992
looks wise its close but the 991 WP looks more aggressive and special
interior - no contest the new interior is very nice
the new smart axle lift on the 992 is nice
i also felt the pdk on the 991 shifts a little bit faster on sport pdk mode on both cars
just some notes after driving the 991 for 15000 kms and the 992 for 700 kms

I've had a 991.2 gt3, a 991.2 gt3rs and now a 992 gt3. 992 gt3 is the best of the bunch imo

I think he wasnt asking what is better, he was asking what is more interesting to own long term.

To add to my own response, 488 Pista is also better than 458 Speciale but I bet most would answer 458 for the same question DK7 asked. Not saying older car is better than the newer GT3 here. Was clarifying the question.

Speciale is my grail car. If I wasnt building on this in Park City, Id have one.

The 991.2 gt3rs would be harder to live with unless you track quite a bit imo

991.2 GT3 RS; the 992 GT3 is better in every way, but there is something so dang intangible about the GT3 RS. Honestly regret trading mine in when 992 GT3 arrived…well, until I get on track and the 992 GT3 is so good! Not much of an answer, sorry. But, if one was the last car I could ever buy it would be my Lizard WP 991.2 RS.

Older harsher car is always more interesting. Has been that way since 996. Newer is better performance wise but some of that character is lost due to easier to extract more performance being equal to more refined. It was the same way in Corvettes C5, C6, C7 or E46 M3 CSL to E92 M3 to F80 M3 or E39 M5 to E60 M5 to F10 M5.

Remember how everyone said F10 M5 so numb etc? How anyone could make F90 M5 numb-er is beyond me but they managed to make it faster, lap better, more comfortable, lighter weight, etc but much more refined.

GT3 is no different. I bet these comparisons will apply even more to the new GT3RS.

New here, needed some help. I was offered MSRP I paid for my .2 RS as trade in exchange for $40 K ADM on a new 992 GT3 manual build. Is that a fair deal? RS MSRP $230 k, non weissach. Thanks !

6 of this, or a half dozen of that.

The RS is going for a lot more than MSRP these days...While $40k ADM is on the ‘lower’ side...It’s either you sell you’re RS for what it’s really worth and pay a higher ADM or do the deal they offered.

Personally I wouldn’t do it...Keep the RS and wait for the GT3 market to soften...I think RS will hold better...but it’ll soften too. Just depends how badly you want a 992 GT3. I also think if you shop around you can get a similar ADM without having to include the RS as part of the deal.

no way, i like 991.2 RS better from driving experience. Financial wise RS will do much better at MSRP than a +40k ADM 992 GT3!
You will "loose" 60-80K next 2-3 years in comparison to your RS.

992 GT3s still going above sticker, Touring even more so. That said I am looking at trading my 992 Touring for a .2 3RS WP. Sold mine 3 yrs ago and wish I hadn't. Or add a ducktail to the Touring and keep it.
