I took delivery of my python green 992 GT3 today... I only drove it a little bit before I dropped it at Atlanta Protective Films for PPF. Here are my thoughts! First - if you are getting one, you are so fortunate. The fact that Porsche is turning these out in this climate is amazing and it is worth the wait, no matter how long it is. I've had 11 GT cars and this one still took my breath away.
1) The second I saw it I knew it was special. The lines and curves - side flares, trim, and diffusers are not communicated at all in pictures. In person, the presence of this car makes you take a step back. Just stared at it and took it in from many angles for several minutes
2) I did black PCCB and they look so awesome. Very mechanical, still visible with great detail. I am thrilled with them
3) I climbed inside and was like a little kid again. The interior is absolutely stunning - the PDK lever is perfect, ergonomics, detail and the overall cabin experience, gauge clusters, etc is miles and miles beyond a 991. I did mamba green deviated stitching inside and it is a perfect match to Python exterior.
4) The next thing I did was take the key and start it. The sound is totally different - deeper and more exotic. Still sounds like a GT3, but more refined and modern. Very throaty on light revs. The sound is on point!!
5) I paid for it, and that was painful.
6) It was time to drive it out of the delivery bay. There are two suspension settings... sport and track. I left in sport mode and the first thing I noticed is that the ride is like glass, incredibly comfortable and compliant but with no compromise to handling. The difference between sport and track mode in the suspension is huge - much more than the 991. The car is on rails in sport, but in track, the bumps come to life and you feel everything - this can be good or bad, depending on your mood and intentions. In track mode the car is stiff and angry, but never bone jarring. The steering feel is improved - very progressive in nature and excellent feel / communication. The steering was one of the first things I noticed as a significant improvement from an already awesome setup on the 991.2
7) I only took her to 6500, trying to go easy for a bit as the engine breaks in - the engine is so alive. The power delivery is very different than the 991, hard to describe but everything just feels instant, fast, telepathic
8) The electronics and gauges are so beautiful. I did leather interior with black brushed aluminum trim, buckets and mamba green stitching. It's all so modern and engaging. The interior is so far ahead of the 991, there are a lot of GT3 specific touches.
9) The clanks, rattles and chunkies from previous generations are far less noticeable... There is a different kind of rawness to this car, but I do believe the mechanical noise from previous generations will be missed by some. It sounds incredible, very raw, but tighter and more refined.
Overall - The car is far beyond my expectations for overall presence, interior fit, finish and feel, and modernization - it feels like it's 20 years younger than a 991 GT3. In sport mode (softest setting) The ride is much more compliant than my 991.2 RS, and dare I say even my 991.2 GT3. In track mode it is very "tracky" in terms of comfort and performance. The exhaust sound as the engine revs is extremely "gt3", but the clacking, mechanical noises are far less noticeable at idle. Overall, I cannot believe how good this car is. Anyone getting one will be simply blown away. Porsche has done it again.
I took almost 0 pictures - pictures do not communicate what this car looks like. I liked it in pictures, but it's not even close to what it looks like in person.

I am a bit confused perhaps as to how its more refined but also more raw. Arent they sort of mutually exclusive?
How is the handling compared to 991.2 RS?
Didn't say it was more raw... it's a different kind. It is hard to describe. There is a deeper, throatier exhaust note -was really surprised how different the engine sounded. I haven't revved it all the way out yet... cant wait to try it.
The handling, IMO in the short time I drove it was very very good. I'll have more thoughts after I take it to the mountains this weekend.
Awesome write up and LOL to #5 - I’m picking mine up tomorrow at 2pm and while I was waiting in line at bank today to get a cashiers check I was thinking the same thing 😂 judging from first looks, definitely worth EVERY penny though. Enjoy and be safe!
