Default 992 GT2RS - Likelihood

Whats the likelihood of a 992 GT2RS given all the new regulations?

Apologies if a thread already exists but I couldn't find anything.

Not sure what you mean by "given all the new regulations", but I'd say it's pretty likely they make a GT2. They've done so consistently.

All the new euro emissions regulations etc. With all other guys (F,M and L) going hybrid - I am not sure if Porsche will do the next 2RS as pure ice i.e non hybrid

That's a different question.

I’m betting the 992 GT2RS will be hybrid. I think it will still be awesome.

I am guessing that the .1 is going with the same formula as the previous GT2. No hybrid, just GT3RS + 150HP. I think they must sense a bit of the emerging animosity with electric vs. ICE (just read the crazy thread that started in the racing forum about the 718) and I would not bring that to the 911 until I have it perfected with only upside.

I was under the impression they only do a .2 in the GT2RS.

Even hybrid in the GT2RS is going to be interesting due to weight etc. The current GT2RS might well be the last pure ICE 2RS?

Quite certain we'll see a GT2 RS but I don't expect hybrid until 992.2 GT3/RS. GT2 doesn't seem the most logical platform to introduce hybrid because it has an abundance of torque.

Agreed. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see a hybrid 911 at all until a swan song .2 3RS...

My dealer thinks there might be one at the end of 992.2. I think it will be hybrid. We’ll see.

There will be a runout special like the 911R on the way which will not be cheap and quite limited..sort of wingless RS as I understand it.

The ST seems to fit that bill. The R was about 20% more expensive than the RS of the time, 991.1 RS both sporting 500ps.
