Coming to terms with a PDK…

Some of you talk about PDK like it's some second grade transmission, get off your high horse.
No one is going to dispute rowing your own gears is a fun and engaging experience, let's just stop here.
Everytime you brag about Porsche ring times, how quick this is, that is, remember it's the PDK that delivered those bragging rights you're so proud of to remind everyone at every given opportunity.

The stringy backed glove guys just pricelessly pretentious. The PDK is probably one of the best transmissions out there and was originally designed for the 956/962 endurance race car.

Also, sailing into a hairpin corner at 155 mph, crushing the brakes, and downshifting from 5th to 2nd (while keeping the car balanced - and possibly doing a money shift) and then accelerating out and up shifting to 3rd without losing the back end - is just a totally different feeling than what you experience with a sterile PDK doing the shifting work for you.
For me, this is the fun and enjoyment I want.
Also, if all you want is faster lap times, buy a Cup car and trailer it…

There wouldn't even be a MT in the GT3 if wasn't for the existence of the PDK-S.
Don't slap the hand that shifts your stick shift.

For me, no manual is a deal breaker.
Id rather drive a tesla than have to be forced to buy a PDK, which gets boring really quickly.
I talked to my dealer about my allocation. They said they can push my allocation into 2023 and hope that california re-certifies the manual transmission by then.
Alternatively, I could get the PDK and then flip it for the 991.2 speedster, which is arguably the closest thing to a 992 gt3 manual. Keep in mind that i do not flip cars, but when california is going to pull this garbage, i have to compensate.

Awww man, you went there.

If my living depended on a couple of tenths of a second around the track, I would give up beer and get the PDK. Thankfully it doesn’t.

LOL - you do realise that many people that own PDK-S equipped cars may well have cut their teeth on all sorts of conventional manual transmissions. The stringy back gloved manual guys are the epitome of Porsche bores. The endless PDK manual debate should be consigned to the bin - it is utter drivel largely perpetuated by the afore mentioned Porsche cars and coffee bores.

I totally see the want for a manual, especially in a Touring with LWB for God's sakes. Good Lord, the Touring looks so good. From the side, tbh it looks like a normal Carrera. But from the back, my God how gorgeous.
I haven't driven that 6-speed sport manual, but I love the PDK in the 991.2. So crisp and responsive. Love it in the GT3RS too.

All an automatic is, is brake and gas. No emotion besides that.
A top end plaid model S or the upcoming roadster will smoke any 911 PDK, since speed times are what all you pleb PDK people care about.
Supercharger network + cheap electricity + faster car. If porsche forces PDK down my throat with no other option, then hell yes ill buy a founders edition tesla roadster.
Until then, manual all the way. Too many circle jerking PDK people in this sub trying to defend their wife’s choice, lol.
Secondly, i’ve already made a deal to flip my forced 992 gt3 pdk allocation with some cash for a 991.2 speedster with less than 500 miles on it.

Yikes
Tesla is a low quality product. You get what you pay for...fast in straight line, ugly, garbage interior, garbage at the track, boring (no) transmission, yep fast up to 120 mph or whatever it is, peters out at the high end, a joke for downforce, crap on the track because it's a golf cart. Don't run multiple laps, she's charging!
Who names a damn car 'Plaid' ...sounds like a cell phone.
