As Matt pointed out in his video...these two vents are fake and I am kind of shocked. I may assume that the RS might have the same rear bumper and they'll be opened on RS, so it's just the factory trying to save some work? Or maybe the wind tunnel test results showed that they have to be closed but it's too late to change the design? These are only rational reasons I could think of.
This also reminds me that I've never paid attention to these small rear vents on any previous GT3/RS models, even when I look at them in person. I never owned a GT car before so 991.1 and .2 owners please tell me are they also fake???
What I meant to say was on the 991.2 Gt3 Rs there are vents with a mesh but if you look inside it is enclosed with plastic. I do not think it has any form of purpose
but for looks.
Where do I find the like to the video "its 'true' 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times will shock you!" I think it sounds like more fun to be shocked by 1/4 mi times than fake vents (bummer though).
I've heard AP said in various interviews that he doesn't do fake vents. Have u guys heard the same??? So freaking disappointed, time to get a Camry.
He also said the shark blue was inspired from a Blue Yacht that he saw in the Mediterranean. Turned out it was the exact same color that is on VWs. I wonder what else he said that is not true?
for the European pedestrian safety laws, bumper trim including meshes and screens have to be made of plastic so it doesn't chafe the skin of a passing pedestrian. People may recall circa 2000-2009 Mercedes-Benz AMG cars that used to have the metal mesh in the front bumper to be replaced by plastic.
