Not earth shattering info, as manufacturers rebrand colors regularly, but worth a mention.
While I was doing spray-outs of my short list of colors, I discovered Shark Blue is not a new color, but actually a color first offered on the 2019 Rabbit Edition GTI. It was off the pallet in 2020, and back for 2021 as an optional color for all Golfs.
Of course it will look much better branded as Porsche Shark Blue vs. VW Cornflower!

I don't know, not to make a HUGE big deal about it, but it kind of irks me. The way I look at it, if you want paint to order, you accept that it's an expensive option and a bit of an imposition from a production perspective and you're going to pay through the nose for it. Fair play. And it's different if you order PCB or Bucket seats, where even if Porsche is making a profit on it, you can accept that it's an expensive item for which you're paying a premium over the standard equipment. But Shark Blue / Cornflower blue? It's the signature color for the 992 GT3 so suffice to say, a lot of people will probably choose it. But it's not some special color that they developed which is difficult to synthesize or requires a special paint process. It's straight out of the bloody VAG parts bin. My sub $30K GTI is painted in this color. I could have chosen grey or black or white on my GTI. But I chose cornflower blue. And you know how much extra it cost? $0. And how much extra did it cost VW to paint the car this color? Arguably $0. And that's also how much it probably cost Porsche to paint the car Shark Blue over say, Guards Red. But making customers fork over an extra, what $4500 for something that doesn't actually cost them any extra is sort of just sticking a big middle finger at them. Especially because it's not even a unique "Porsche" item. Anyway, whatever. Rant over.

There is the cost of SB, and then there is the price of SB. Don't confuse the two. And they are not the same to everyone. Hence, different color selections and offerings.
