PCCBs for street use, will last life of car. If track regularly not a wise choice. It’s a consumable that wears quickly and needs replaced, assuming you are a decent driver. If plan is to track get standard brakes, or order PCCBs and swap them immediately upon arrival.

All the serious GT racing classes (e.g. IMSA GTD) run steel brakes.

We swapped steel brakes into my wife's 458 Challenge EVO and felt no difference in braking, even in hard stops like Laguna's T2, but found an enormous difference in both cost and pad longevity.
We can agree to disagree.

Having driven both the 991.1 GT3 with and without PCCBs (different cars), back to back, same track, same day, same tire (new Cup2s), the difference was noticeable.

For me, I will never track another car without PCCBs if given the choice.

And I don't really care about pro or semi-pro series, those guys are running with different parameters and different goals.

Treynor probably has more track experience and experience with different types of braking systems than pretty much anyone on Rennlist... not to mention that pretty much ALL the data out there on braking effectiveness shows the there is no difference.

Confirmation bias at its best.

I am not questioning Treynor's creds, nor do I think it's relevant.

What Treynor, or anyone else, prefers to use on track is their own prerogative. And rightfully so.

As to "ALL the data out there on braking effectiveness shows [sic] there is no difference" ... actually, that's not true, as not ALL data (like this one or this one) show no difference at least with respect to braking performance. But that said, my preference for CCB has as much to do with braking performance, as it has to do with the handling performance of the car.

Of course, as I said up above, this is just my preference.

I also find the PCCBs noticeably different/better and that is on the street. The Standards are far from a slouch( not that anybody would ever claim this) but the PCCBs just one step better.

For regular street driving, get the Bose. Base system is noticeably worse.

Under hard braking at the end of the back straight at Mid Ohio I find the PCCBs tend to muffle the midrange of the Bose.

PCCB shows better repeatability though from what I've seen.

Get Bose skip the PCCB.

for brake dust use sonax wheel cleaner, spray on wait a couple minutes spray down with water and never clean wheels by hand ever again. Pretty epic

p.s. zillion track days and 99.9999% of people run steels, I’d have to think long and hard to think of someone running ceramics
