PCCB VS New brakes & Bose speakers on 992GT3
As a freshman here.I'm confused the difference of performence btw the pccb and the normal brakes on this Gen.The sizes of the brake disc are almost on the same page.If the driver like me who won't track the car too much on circuit but more often on street. Is it worth to choose the pccb?
How do you think of the option of Bose?Would you like to get it or skip it.Focus on engine's mucis anytime?
Thanks for your explaination at first!

Bose is not the last name in audio gear (I'm a hifi snob, so will skip it), but people seem to like it. Not a must-have though...

That said, as I'm drafting this, you've already got a couple of answers and, I'll throw in $.02 more.
The PCCBs will result in less un-sprung weight that may improve handling. They will be more resistant to fade which you will only be concerned with heavy tracking and, they wont produce brake dust. They will last longer than iron rotors. But, replacement of the brakes should you need to do so much later in time will cost over $20k. They are slightly bigger than 991.2 gen brakes and, I don't think anyone has numbers as far as stopping distance is concerned yet. The Irons are perfectly fine for you especially if you don't track frequently. For some people who are more well heeled than I, they're willing to pay the price just to avoid cleaning off brake dust but, that is rather a silly reason to get them in my opinion that considers the wallet. I have irons on a 991.1 GT3, may go PCCB on a 992 but, am not yet decided until I configure an allocation.
I have the Bose on a 991.1. It's worth the money and, still not very good but better than a non-Bose unit. Unless you're just wanting to listen to the engine like some people say, it's a good option to click off.
Dan (has questions about deviated stitching that will be researched)

After 2.5 years and 18.5K miles, my PCCB feel exactly the same as newly delivered. None of my previous cars with standard rotors could claim the same.
If you value consistency and long life (albeit at an exorbitant cost) these deliver.

Re: Bose I personally would get it unless you're planning to put in an aftermarket system later on. There's a marked improvement over the base audio... I know as I have a prior gen GT car with base audio and won't make that mistake again in spec'ing. So even if you listen to the engine more than the radio, when you do listen to the radio there's a noticeable harshness relative to Bose system.

One additional point - those of us who track cars regularly opt for iron brakes rather than PCCBs. The conventional brakes have all the stopping power you need, even for track use, and they're WAY less expensive to operate. Stopping distances on the street are a function of tire grip, not brakes - any of these cars have enough braking power to get into 4-wheel ABS actuation from 70 MPH.
Upsides of PCCBs are less brake dust, less maintenance, and those cool yellow calipers.

The std brakes are heavier but allegedly improved over previous gen in both size and performance. Kinda like std brakes Viagra. PCCB has no brake dust and lower unsprung weight, and to me you can tell the difference. Is it worth $10,000? Only your financial advisor knows for sure.

Going to disagree with you there. The iron brakes work great on the track and have much lower operating costs than PCCBs. Folks who aren't required by series rules (e.g. Ferrari Challenge) to run carbon-ceramics, switch to good steel brakes and never look back. All the serious GT racing classes (e.g. IMSA GTD) run steel brakes.
We swapped steel brakes into my wife's 458 Challenge EVO and felt no difference in braking, even in hard stops like Laguna's T2, but found an enormous difference in both cost and pad longevity.

PCCB isn't needed for track. The stock Irons will do you just fine. Brakes won't be the thing holding you back on track.
It's about brake dust, unsprung weight and looks.
I doubt I would buy them again. I bought in my 718 Spyder to see what the fuss is about. Great to not have any noticeable brake dust. Nothing else really (at its price point) to mention.
Oh and I would get Bose rather than leave the standard stereo. While nothing to talk about it is better than the standard stereo. I have Bose in 3 and base in a 19. I am not one to spring for Burmeister, not worth it for a car stereo.
