I also think you need to apriori request an extension to the insurance coverage that PAG provides w/Euro Delivery accordingly...
You can request however much you want when you go to check out to pick up your car. No need to preplan. It's about $1200/month for insurance from what I remember.. hefty. I kept it there over 3 months due to multiple trips to enjoy it and then after awhile they started charging me extra even for the winter wheel setup. It gets expensive fast.

my point was that you have to buy it in advance/day of delivery .., you cant add more later AFIAK

Correct. Day of delivery you have to decide. Sorry I meant before that date even.

Gear ratio are perfect on track or while cruising on german autobahn

but if you look to exploit the engine fun
on legal road you will be in serious trouble
or very rarely see the 4th gear
sometime allowed to enjoy the 3rd

designed for german autobahn or track
otherwuse is an "i want it all at 2nd gear" car
or go cruising

What can you tell us about how it feels different compared to the previous generation and what they have done to it from a driving experience perspective?
Unlike previous generations, it's my understanding the 992 Turbo was developed with heavy oversight by Andreas Preuninger. I haven't driven one, but those who have say the chassis tuning feels like a street-focused GT product.

As for fun on the street, well, I understand the complaint about the GT4, 2nd tops out at 82 mph. You might say in the GT3 it's also 82 in 2nd (well 81.4 I found), but it's apples and oranges because the GT3 will be at 9000 rpm while the GT4 is at 7800 rpm.
How fast are you going in 2nd when you get that nice pulling feeling in the sweet spot in the power band? Some say the Spyder/GT4 is more fun on the street because the car has less power, but you make an interesting point that would suggest the GT3 would be more of a hoot.

I agree that "torque means acceleration" intuition is all screwed up. High torque at low RPM just means high power at low RPM, and you want as much power as possible at ALL RPM. Around town when you're putt putting around at low RPM, you want more power at low RPM for fun factor to just punch it and accelerate. To get more power at low RPM, you need a motor that can inhale a lot of air to be able to convert a high rate of gasoline chemical energy into mechanical energy to make that power, which a Turbo (or large displacement motor) is great at.

And yes for a rotating motor in this case the power output is directly related to the torque output and the angular velocity...
this will be interesting discourse
we have Mech33 PhD stanford/CalTech iirc and YargK PhD Cal Berkeley (go bears)

but I am more of a touchy feeling guy.
the ratio will never be perfect.
I used to re-gear my cars, from old AC to modern GT3. they will work on one track but not the other...
then you have theoretical advantage vs, how well and how fast and how smooth u can't shift....
if you can have different gear box for each track each road, that is best. otherwise the best way is to drive around the issue.
you will have a lot more fun

When dyno testing engines in development, you only measure torque (via load cells on the electrical dyno) and then calculate the power.

Yes, the individual ratios 1st through 6th, but the final drive (Total Ratio) will be different in the 992 (made to offset larger diameter tires on 21" wheels).

6th is too short, 245 (150) is about 6000 rpm and you get a buzzing sound in your head after about 5 mins that won’t go away.

If any one wants to import gear box for business purpose from overseas no worries he can easily pay overseas suppliers with MTFX.

I didn't follow the break-in protocols but I recall that I could reach 140 mph without going over 4k rpm.
Did you?
So your car tops out at 315mph or respectively 470km/h?

Ignoring dannyfor's random bump to the thread, does anybody know the top speed in each gear for the GT3 manual gearbox?

I'm seeing approx 80mph in 2nd and 105mph in 3rd. Is that about right?

I think this is a pretty close approximation:

6th gear is Drag-Limited to around 199 mph (in minimum downforce mode)...
