Allocation + ADM?

I didn't have a signed order, just a super long list of emails telling me not to worry about a production slot as I'm 3rd or 4th on the "list."
I do wonder how much interest they've earned on my money, I doubt CA would consider this setup a contract even though money exchanged hands. The dealership did get bought during the process, no idea if that changed anything...just waiting on my return check now.
I've moved on, current next car interests are super varied: 993 C4S (again), longhood 911, Singer, and I just had a kid so weirdly the Taycan Cross Turismo is up on my radar. How's that for a weird list, oddly each of those would be easier to purchase than the new GT3 (see how I brought it back around...)

This post has everything: markups galore, tax evasion schemes, puppy pictures, etc..... the most entertaining post in a long time.
Also: my dealer asked for $50k over sticker if I am a "market buyer". I laughed and said I am definitely a cheap bastard but not a "market buyer". I love the new terminology.
I can wait.... its just a car

How are people surprised at markups galore when 991.2 GT3s are selling over MSRP still, with Tourings bringing astronomical amounts over MSRP? Obviously, the new car isn't going to be cheaper. Sign of the times, and as always, you have to pay to play if you want to be first in line. I'm sure no one is complaining when they're being offered MSRP or close to it on trade when they trade or sell their used 991.2 GT3. These lists are all B.S. anyway - they're similar to being on the "list" for a sport stainless steel model Rolex. Not going to happen unless you know someone high up in the dealer chain, or you're a big spender. Giving a dealer a deposit 4 years in advance for an upcoming car is absolutely embarrassing.

Consider me embarrassed then.

Same thing happened with the 991.1 GT3 and the 991.2 GT3....the most "motivated" buyers will pay to buy the 992.1 GT3 then once those buyers dry up prices will fall back towards MSRP, maybe not this year but for sure next year. I'll wait for my name to called by Porsche North Houston and if it isn't oh well. I'm not going to pay over MSRP for a GT3 or RS.

My SA called a few years back to offer me a 997 RS 4.0 for $30K, I stupidly turned him down and now kick myself in the a$$ as I could've made at least $200K on the car. So it depends on the car. I paid over MSRP on my Touring but hey made money on the car when I sold it. So never say never pay over MSRP. If the right car comes along, then it'd be OK to pay over. Just not on the 992 GT3 though.

Same thing with Rolex. The past year I just got a Submariner no-date with less than a month of wait time and a while dial Daytona in less than a year after being added to a "list". This is the Rolex Botique on 5th Ave NYC where I also got a couple other steel watches from in the past. I even have a friend who had not owned a Rolex before but quickly (after a few weeks) was able to get a gold Submariner after introducing him to my AD. Most likely they'll again call me at some point this year to pick up a Rolex and Tudor watches I asked them to get for me.
Point being - I'm a NOBODY and not rich, but can (somewhat) afford the things I'm passionate about. These things are possible with a lot of effort (without being pushy), good attitude, good relationships, and some (or maybe a lot of) luck!

This is the kind of messaging I've been reading here since I've started following the GT forums a few years ago. I've only had a Macan and a 992 C2S so I thought it would be unattainable for me or anyone other than "VIPs" to actually spec out a new GT3 without having to pay ridiculous money or some form of ADM (actually I still don't know what ADM stands for LOL). But as luck would have it, I was able to get a confirmed GT3 Touring build slot for MSRP. So anyone with some luck and good relationship with their (not greedy) dealers can find an MSRP GT3 deal.I'm not saying it would be easy (although it was for me), but it's also possible for others.
