A little CF or exterior color paint on some trim and the car will be extraordinarily attractive. The eye is naturally drawn to details that seem incongruent making them seem more significant. The new GT3 is much better looking than I previously thought, and the stick shift largely redeems the center console. As far as the overall size and abundant technology ar concerned, it is what it is in 2021. We aren’t in 1973 anymore as my body reminds me constantly. As an aside the front suspension change is major and long overdue. I believe back to back comparisons will prove very interesting.

Totally agree. My only concern is that this is the first application of double wishbone with electric power steering (hydraulic in the race cars that used it previously). Hope there was ample time to nail the feel/feedback. Waiting for Chris Harris driving review...

I'm a little unclear on the previous posts for the proposed MSRP.
Has a U.S. MSRP price been established yet?
TIA

Another interesting point I thought is the use of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic rather than 100% Carbon Fibre. Cost containment measure?

Definitely. Not only for purchase, but for maintenance and repair.

CFRP is the actual term for the “real deal”. Whether Kevlar, CF, or glass mat, they are all fiber reinforced plastic (FRP). Basically epoxy/resin encapsulated fabric. Multiple layers constitute a laminate which form the part, from a trim piece to a boat hull or aircraft wing. A veneer, OTOH, is a thin layer of laminate applied onto a surface of another material.

If you convert the german and UK base prices looking around $170K base, but then again VAT taxes included in that and who knows what little build differences there are in the base car amongst US and others. I'm expecting this thing to run 200K US with PCCBs, Buckets, FAL, and a few other "preference" options that we all switch in and out differently (leather, lighting...etc.). Love that unpainted CF roof an option...so based on all that I'm thinking US base will come in around 160? "educated" shot in the dark here....225-250K after ADM in the first round of allocations....

It is a good looking car to me, only thing that sticks out is that black plastic intake up front, hopefully that is a cheap replacement part like the front lip, because it looks cheap, going to get chewed up...the back to my surprise looks great to me, certainly busy but I like it. Hoping that IF I score an allocation, that it happens for the next model year so they can shake this out a bit with all the mechanical changes that have happened...

They also mentioned it had to do with pedestrian crash safety. Something about rebound of the material.

All carbon fiber is CFRP. This is why people hate Porsche owners haha. Carbon fiber parts are literally a carbon fiber weave impregnated with plastic resin that gets baked under pressure in an autoclave. And yet even after people read this here they will still remain ignorant and continue to say it's for "cost savings" 🙄

No no no no. Stop it. Get some help. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon...forced_polymer

There are no parts made from 100% carbon fiber, that is not how it works. Stop it. Please cease this. Porsche only uses high quality pre-preg carbon parts and there is no reason to think they aren't doing the same here.

The hood gives more flex for European pedestrian crash impact rules. Correct.

The bulbes rear bumper is to ensure rear bumper impact against a 5ft tall flat structures before other part of car, also crash rule/ regulation requirement
