Just one example of what can happen

Was it towards Turn 12?

For those who are going to trailer to the track and aren't going to drive this car on the street, you might consider putting a full cage and halo seats in it.

I've seen similar crashes caused by blown tire and fluids dumped on track (in braking zone). Once a car is caused to swerve at high speed, it can tumble quite a lot.

Glad he is ok!

That looks like the entrance to turn 19?

This was on second hot lap of session. So likely the tires were hot enough.

From what he said he was going (or trying to) flat around the carousel. It looks like his turn into T18 was a little tight. There is a new (growing) bump at T18 that unsettled the car. The left rear started coming out on him. He tried to throttle through it but it didn’t work.

The car continued to rotate and the rear wheel hit the guard rail and climbed up. The car then caught air and flipped it back over front 3 times.

He was checked out and released.

As it sits, it’s just past the Marshall stand at T19.

W2W team acquired it recently. They are shutting down. I understand they were going to list it for sale today. So it appears they were taking it out one last weekend before selling it.

Hi Ray. I’ve never had any real problems coming out of 18 but yesterday just prior to the cup car crash I had quite a tank slapper. Fortunately had the gizmos on which saved me. I’m wondering if there was still some slipperyness remaining from the oil spill. Guards red 992gt3

That’s a hunch I have as well. Plus, there are more bumps developing.

My son and I have a rule when skiing: we never take "one last run". I apply the same rule to tracking.

I sort of have the same rule, but I often break it, and that last run is often a really good one - making me eager to get back to the track!
