Sorry about the transmission - mine (on 2014 GT3) got replaced while still under warranty. Although it seemed odd they replaced the whole thing for what seemed like a relatively small oil leak. It was its second engine that blew up, and the first one was replaced preemptively. Anyway, things happen to any car. But Porsche replaced both the transmission and engine much faster than McLaren fixed AC.

No, my friend is in Canada with Black and Tokyo Blue 765 LTs.

I am considering a 675LT just to drive around. I don't plan to track it. Was your 675LT unreliable because you tracked it or did you have issues with the car that would've occurred even without tracking the car? It seems like the 675LT's have a history of being one of the more reliable McLarens?

Sorry, forgot to quote you when I entered my question in this thread.

Just love all of the carbon and how special the 675LT's feel.

Yeah, I definitely get where you're coming from. I guess I might take it to Le Circuit Mont Tremblant when we go in vacation as a family. I'm kind of burnt on track days. Did that for 20 years and had a blast but for me to really get some thrill out of tracking a car I think I would need to at least race in SCCA or perhaps even in some Pro Am stuff. Unfortunately we still have lots of little kids running around the house that take up all of my time...and a considerable amount of resources.

It's a special car. Just make sure you get an extended warranty. This is true for all Macs, not just the 675LT. Heck, it's probably true for all cars.

No problem. The issues were all ultimately unrelated to the car being on track.
1st issue: Some sort of quick-release at the fuel pump disconnected leaving me stranded in the middle of a rally an hour outside of Yosemite. 8hr wait for a tow.
2nd issue: Fuel gauge was reading 3/4 full 2nd session of a 3 day track weekend at laguna. Apparently float got caught causing it to read excessively when in reality ran the car out of gas unknowingly. Silly but couldnt figure it out.
3rd issue: dealer's transport driver punched a hole in the front carbon splitter and lied about it - 3 months to source parts and get it fixed
4th issue: car broke down at 6pm in rush hour on the hwy on my anniversarry. Turned out to be a bent valve and detonated engine. Total engine replacement and 4 month wait.
5th issue: Day after getting the car back w/ new engine it breaks down on the hwy. Turns out to be issue #1 repeating itself.
Was it the dealer? Was it a lemon? Dont know - but Mclaren NA were awful to work with throughout and i'll never buy a mclaren product again. Very special car when it worked.

Beautiful car and you had the hood scoop! Those are very rare cars and bring a premium on the used market. Sorry you had such bad luck with it.
I was hoping to snag the one on Bring a Trailer last night but bidding didn't make the reserve. I've been chatting with the folks at McLaren of Philadelphia and they seem genuinely excited about their product and have been nothing but generous with their time.
Seems like these cars are coming down quite a bit. If these approach $200K over the winter months it will be an easy call to my GM dealer to cancel my allocation for the new ZO6.

You guys have me thinking (often not a good thing). I've long lusted after McLarens. Love the futuristic design. Had a chance to drive an MP4 on track and, aside from the brake feel, it was a hoot. If a 675LT can be had for around $200K, even with the reliability issues, seems like it would be fun on both track and road, and worth a try.

Honestly the 675 is the best car I’ve driven and the longest ownership experience including Porsche GT products
, Ferrari and it’s been good to me. It’s a stiff noisy ride, but has a soft suspension setting which is comfortable.

I've tracked my 600LT plenty, and haven't been easy on it. Only issue I had was a cracked windshield that they replaced under warranty. I didn't think it was a big deal at all. My 765LT Spider is very new, so too early to say on that one.
I know a lot of local people personally with McLarens, and haven't heard one yet complain about reliability. I know they have problems, but like any other brand. IMO I think reliability problems with McLarens are overblown.
