No, it's active at all times. It will automatically go into DRS mode when the wheel is straight an accelerating. Whenever braking, or in a corner, it goes into full downforce mode, along with the front continually matching the rear downforce. That's active for sure.
The DRS is a simple function where you can manually make the car go into low downforce mode from what has been shown so far.
Does it even matter what the ring time will be? Honestly, I have a bigger want for the GT4RS than I do for the GT3RS...heck my want for the Touring is greater than for the GT3RS.

Ring time will indicate which cars it can beat in DE, cuz DE is racing by another name ...
I have a craving for a snazzy 992 GTS targa or cab, but dealer says they can't get jack these days.

are there any posted lap times at any track that show this car faster than the 991.2 RS???
so far the press has been just a bunch of fluff....
Do you not understand how this process works…? As referenced in one of AP’s interview videos that dropped when the first embargo broke during August, Porsche scheduled its first round of press drives for Silverstone in late September. Over the past week or so, Porsche hosted multiple waves of journalists / YouTubers for the event. Both AP and FSW were there, of course. It rained during more than one day of the Silverstone sessions, so representative times likely won’t exist. Furthermore, at this point, the cars are still in PAG’s hands; they are not in local press fleets for timed track lapping elsewhere.

The embargo breaks at midnight CET on October 5, or 6 PM eastern in the US on October 4.

It matters to Porsche and to those that convert them for closed road competition use - its a very good base line indicator of general performance. Not really interested in anything else by Porsche at this point in time. The GT4RS was a job well done. A Spyder version of the 4RS would be interesting.

It matters because Porsche has made sure that it matters.
And it matters to all of us because we're all punch drunk on Porsche Kool-Aid.

That time is at the hands of a pro driver who is going ***** out at the limit, something I could never and would never do for the fear of killing myself. haha I like driving my cars even with big wings like the 991.2 GT3RS around town but the 992 GT3RS is just too much for cruising around time as it begs to be on a track.

So it doesn't matter to you as you aren't a buyer Its not about the time you or any of us could do - its a demonstration of potential and capability, and perhaps in this instance a validation of claims made e.g. faster through a corner than a cup car. So a 991.2 Cup Car on slicks is more than 4s per min quicker round a track than a 991.2 GT3 RS on Cup 2 R.
Thus the 992 GT3 RS should be 21s quicker round the ring than the 991.2 GT3 RS...........right, I don't think so. If a company makes a claim, its a good idea to verify it with proof - particularly if the whole schtick is aero.
