I would rather have functional controls e.g. variable traction etc as long as they are direct and functional for performance activities - each button to control one function. Have a look at a cup car steering "wheel".

That way your hands are always on the wheel - much safer.

The watered down version is the GT3.

RS is not a nostalgia car but rather a racecar imitation (there is the watered-down Turbo from the heritage department for nostalgiacs). Race cars have had buttons on the steering wheel since the late 1980s and have too many buttons for me to memorize what they mean now, so buttons in RS make sense, IMO.

Once you get used to it it’s easy. You don’t need to memorize anything. Your fingers just know what is what. And I’m assuming that something on your display is going to show what changes were made so you can always look at it to confirm.

I hope you can mess with the diff on the fly in the new car. Would be Cool if it was diff/aero/traction/drive mode.

This has been a debated topic for a long time, specially with PCCBs which are only 2 mm larger in diameter.....you can fit wheels but the clearance is very, very small.
Have you tried them on track? Wheels can deflect a bit under track conditions. Not sure if I want to try 19" + 408 mm Iron brakes.

Nobody from PAG reads RL, especially AP so it's okay to whine.

The RS wing no matter how functional is simply hideous, no more jokes about the Senna looking bombastic. Re-working the Turbo wing with active aero bringing it closer to P1 would win alot more hearts.

Those buttons and controls overload on the steering wheel, big minus. Should move all the functions to the hard toggles under the navi instead (of course, too expensive to re-engineer from production car). I struggle to keep hitting stuff in the 992 GT3 on the track and that took my attention away from driving.

Porsche puts 4 ***** on the wheel and a rear surf board on basically a track car that you can register for the street and people blow their lid.....like someone said in previous posts, if you are worried about stone chips, rear visibility, firm ride, and cow hide that matches your wife's purse, then the problem is with you not the car

you just made the case for buttons on the wheel....you dont need to take your eyes off the track because your fingers know what is what on the wheel. To toggle switches a few inches away on the dash, you need to take your eyes off the track.

Remember that good old saying of “dont fix it if it aint broken”? It still applies to this day. The outgoing car was perfect in its rawness, performance, emotion, size, and cost. This new gen cars have gotten “too much” not only visually but also interior size and complexities. I still cant believe you cant drain the entire oil out of the car. God knows what other surprises Porsche has in store for us with the RS.

Exactly, both hands on wheel and eyes on track at all times. Two buttons left and two right, very easy to manage.

Pretty sure the interior size is identical to 991. Or were you comparing to something older than that?
