True story.

All tucked in for the evening w/ the other GTS.

this is a bad omen - hope you get to keep the exhaust

Indeed....

Unfortunately, after a few more days, wife said, "love the car but hate the exhaust."
I really like it, but happy wife...(you know the rest).

I told her about doing a sport cat option and she volunteered to pay.
I'm now shopping for Arkapovic link pipes w/ cats. Crazy prices though.

Any CELs with the cat bypass pipes?
First CEL came in around 100 miles.
Drove to dealer same day to get diagnosed.

Sure enough, from the exhaust.
If this keeps up, I will SURELY buy SPORT CAT LINK PIPES.

So your dealer installed cat bypass. Did they say your warranty is void?

I had a good talk with service manager before deciding to do it.
They didn't have a problem installing cat bypass so I just let them do install instead of me.

After I received my first CEL, they read the code and reset, no questions asked and no charge.

Basically, the warranty for the exhaust portion would not be covered. But that didn't bother me since I replaced the exhaust system cats back anyway.
I asked about the impact upstream of the cat bypass pipes and he was clear that nothing upstream including the motor would be compromised.

Thanks for sharing. Seems you have a good dealer and strong relationship to boot.

Ps- cold start sounds great.

No kidding!
After reseting the CEL Friday at 5pm, I drove another 100+ miles over the weekend and didn't receive another CEL.

Wife enjoyed the ride today, as long as I left the valves shut and didn't accelerate too hard.

So aside from a few great drives this weekend,
I had a number of parts sitting in my closet which I
accumulated during the 90 day wait after ordering this GTS

Part 1
  • LED clear side lamps: It turned out my order had 2 left hand versions instead of one left and one right marker. Now I have one clear LED on one side, and one orange OEM marker on the other. Good grief.

  • Frunk liner: Fits nice and serves a purpose.

  • hood protector: I was expecting more but I'm sure it serves it's purpose. The plastic screws (2 sizes) were not ideal for this 991.2 IMO.

  • Leather key case: OEM Graphite Blue Metalic leather case is tremendous and worth every penny w/ keyless entry and drive.

Part 2
[*]Zunsport Grills: While I knew the fit was not perfect, I'm more than satisfied for the ease of install and looks when you step back 4+ feet.

[*]Rennline Phone mount: Not impressed initially since I ordered the dash version and it interferes with the touch screen. Not sure what I will do yet.

Sorry but that phone mount don't look too cool either with the phone on it or with the phone off of it

That's exactly why I got the Rennline mount that sits next to the shifter instead

If you attach the magnet to the far left side of the phone instead of in the center, you can cover less of the touch screen. Angled properly, you lose almost nothing of the screen. The magnet is plenty strong to hold it securely with the offset. Certainly improved the less-than-ideal location of the mount for me!

Thanks man!
It's either that or find a new one that mounts on console vs. dash.
