Default What would you have done differently?

I just picked up my 2015 GTS Cab from getting the front end PPFd. I've had it since oct 2015 and choose not to wrap it. A decision I regretted after several paint chips, paint restoration and then wrap.

Got me thinking. What would you have done differently now that you have your 991?

My list:

1) PPF and ceramic Pro right off the lot. Won't make that mistake again.
2) wouldn't have spent the $$ on stealth radar. I don't find myself speeding on the CA freeways.
3) with PPF and ceramic Pro applied I would not have gotten the Rupes polishers.
4) I would have purchased instead of leased. I'm keeping this thing a long time.

How about you?

I would have test driven with the top up. I had lots of rattles that I didn’t hear and they would have soured me on the car. My first 1.5 years of ownership were plagued with them. Almost all tamped down now though.

I did a full xpel wrap on the front clip so no regrets there.

I wish I would have done the NavTV earlier, as it would have saved me from repainting the rear bumper cover.

I may regret not getting the front wrapped as I have a couple of small chips. I also leased but it has been only a year so not decided on that yet. Would not have ordered the fire extinguisher although it was cheap. I bought an Escort Max 360 and no regrets for that purchase. Around town I never use it but on back roads I do use it and it has come in handy at times. Otherwise no regrets at all. I love my 911!

Here's my list:

1) I would have gotten a Manual
2) I figured PDK would be fun to try, but if I did it again I wouldn't.
3) Even though manual would have been harder to find in blue, it'd be worth the wait.
4) Now my girlfriend likes the PDK so I don't have a trade-in for a manual car.

Edit: Oh and I regretted waiting so long to change the yellow reflectors out for white LED. SO MUCH BETTER.

Absolutely nothing.Truly, no regrets on any of the P Cars I have had. I love my base C2 as much as my GT3. I am truly having trouble separating from the C2. There is something very special about the 3.4L and its ability to drive to the limit all time with no ill effect.

My car has only 550 miles on it so far, but as I was returning home tonight I was thinking to myself how much I love this car and how perfect my spec turned out. I'm delighted. Got the PPF and coating done prior to p/u, haven't done anything for radar yet, and I purchased! I can't believe how much more I like this car (Targa 4 GTS) compared to my 997 C2S Cab or the Panamera Turbo after that. It's so beautiful and so fast. I just love it.

Nothing so far, I'm with bwiele (who keeps showing off his beautiful Targa GTS )

There was two regrets I thought I would have but I actually don't:

1) I thought I would regret getting a 991.2 instead of a CPO 991.1 for the NA engine versus the turbocharged engine. I was very close to buying a CPO 991.1 C2, but I've been fortunate enough to have only owned cars new and that actually meant more to me than I thought it would sitting in that CPO'd car with 13k miles on the odometer. That meant I would give up the amazing 3.4L NA engine that I loved for how it sounded and how it was "slow" enough that you could wind it out driving on regular roads without going "too" fast, but having a brand new car is just an awesome feeling. And the instant torque and surge of power on the new 3 liter engines is just addictive and sick. I already feel like my base C4 is overpowered and I have to be extremely careful in spirited driving situations, I can't even imagine the C2S/C4S/GTS turbo'd engines.

2) I thought I might end up regretting leasing my .2 C4 now instead of just going for what I really wanted and pull the trigger on a 991.1 GT3, but it's actually worked out for me as I wanted to wait to see if I have a shot in hell in getting a 991.2 GT3 allocation for euro delivery first and my C4 has exceeded my expectations especially after the mixed reviews came out of the 991.2. If I can't get that euro delivery on the .2 GT3, I'll hunt for a babied .1 GT3 that hopefully feels like-new

She's a beauty and I will enjoy her for the 2 years I have her, then I will get scratch an item off the bucket list and get my GT3.

Ah and pictures of my awesome C4:

1. Got Carrera Sport Wheels in black
2. Sport seats plus instead of 18 way
3. Black door handles and black side mirrors with carbon fiber uppper
4. PCCB's(damn dust)
5. No PDCC, no tracks etc near me.
6. Got PASM, would sit a little lower

I truly love my car, it's awesome. It makes me smile every time I get in it.

I really wish I got carbon fiber in the interior.

Although I think the faux aluminum looks alright for some reason in the Cayenne..

Agree on the PPF / Coating (Thanks, Ivan from Lustr). Drove straight from dealership to detailer.

I wish I would have gotten the Burmeister. Only regret

Stuff I'd have done differently:

Gone with the local reputable PPF installer instead of getting it done at the dealer. I told them beforehand I was concerned about visible edges to the film, they told me it wasn't going to be a problem, and when they actually did the job the edges were visible on every piece.

Gotten a coupe instead of a cabriolet. Don't get me wrong, I like the unparalleled visibility I have in all directions when the top's down. I just don't like the reduced rear visibility compared to a coupe when the top is up, and I'm not fond of the look with either the top up or down. I keep comparing it to my wife's 981 S when they're both in the garage and thinking how much better I like her roofline.

Looked harder for a car in a color a like with the options I want, I think. I like my car's Amaranth Red a lot, but I'm not fond of the beige interior, and I do wish I had sport chrono.

I'm ambivalent about the PDK. I miss rowing the gears, but I don't miss the clutch pedal.

I do like how the car drives, and I find I like the handling characteristics of the AWD better than I thought I would.

I'm calling this out specifically because I went from a Toyota Supra Turbo to a Panamera S eHybrid to a 991.1 C4S cab, so it sounds like you know some of how I felt about the transitions.

I thought I would love the Panamera, but I didn't. Partly it was the performance, which was underwhelming in anything but Sport or Sport+. Mostly, though, it was the sheer size of the car. After 16 years of driving a sports coupe, the Panamera was just too big for me to love. The rear visibility was poor, and parking it was always a multi-step effort since I almost never got it right the first time.

After 18 months I decided I needed something more, and started looking at Panamera Turbos. I thought maybe the extra power would make me feel better about the car. Test driving a PTT back to back with a 991.1 S convinced me I wanted to go back to a coupe, and that the Carrera's weight advantage more than offset the raw horsepower of the Panamera Turbo.
