Default Initial impression Speedtech exhaust on 991.2 C2 manual

I drove the '15 GT3 couple weeks back and got away thinking "man wish I have this kinda sound from inside cabin on my C2". Happy to report that SpeedTech exhaust system feels this gap for me and more! No, it's not the same with GT3 but it sounds much much much better!!! Pulling her in 2nd and 3rd gears and listen to it sings...I'm stoked! The tone is deeper and angrier but not obnoxious so the neighbors won't hate me yet.

The welds are a tad more to desire. Weight saving is around 15-16 lbs comparing with PSE. No gain on dyno. John is very quick with communication.

Video really doesn't do it justice, no REALLY but in case anyone might be interested, check out the before and after below.

Next mods: lighter battery and GT3 front control arms. Can't wait......

Awesome. Any driving videos or videos with the car under load in gear?

Also did you install yourself? And for the tips they look about 3/4" further out than normal. Is that normal or can it be pushed in more?

Thanks!

No, the shop did install for me, 2 hours. Great observation! I will check with the shop and see what they say or maybe John@SpeedTech could answer.

You want inside or outside noise or both? Let me see if I could do some this weekend. I'm noob when it comes to video...Where should I mount the GoPro for outside noise?

Not to be annoying numbers guy, but exact weight savings from the SpeedTech exhaust is 19.4 lbs.

Yup. Here we go. They don't have the correct pinout so no torque reading. I'm happy with stock 350 whp on C2

Before

After

I also got 19.4 originally but then when I subtracted stock PSE total and SpeedTech's, I might have incorrectly punched in the numbers. It was late.....

Interesting. Just curious, what was the weather like on the two separate days you dynoed your car? I only mention this as I can't remember a time when I saw zero gains going from stock oem catalytic converter(usually 400-600 cell) to 200 cell high flow cats. It mathematically does not add up. Although I've have seen the same car dyno 25-30hp + or - on different days due to temp and humidity changes. I guess I answered my own question.

No worries, the only reason I remembered the exact number is that I physically weighed each system just prior to the installation of the original SpeedTech system. Just a bit of a tip, on the days when you want the car super quiet(literally like stock), put it into Sport+, this closes the waste-gates and reduces the interior exhaust noise by nearly 10db. I use this trick mostly on the highway cruising in 7th gear.

The after dyno was on cooler morning, literally the next morning. Not sure on humidity.

Maybe it's just me or the video sound, but I don't hear much difference other than more turbo whistle?

I agree, video's just do not give the real world sound of this exhaust. It's really is night and day in person.
