Anyone have Tire Lettering on their street car?

You know what, you're right. Thanks for the PSA, and for being the voice of the entire Porsche community. We'll be sure to consult you first prior to making any decisions regarding the aesthetics of our vehicles. Perhaps you should send a letter to Pirelli as well, and inform them of the worlds discontent with non-black lettering on sports car tires. Clearly they need some guidance in that area. http://color.pirelli.com/en-ww/?

Believe me, sometimes I wish I didn't have such classic good taste so I could enjoy things like corndogs and fake tire letters. Honestly, it's a burden at times. And the responsibility! It's not like I can log in here, see these pictures and keep it to myself! Talk about irresponsible. Twenty-four months from now when the tire-letter guys look back at photos of these things and slap their foreheads in shame, do you think I could live with myself if I had stood idly by and let it go without comment?
I was tempted to call the show, they encourage callers, but how does someone defend Mozart's music to people who believe that Grease is a classic? So I just chalked it up to "different strokes for different folks."

I just ordered some of these from Coker for my GT4:
C'mon people. Have a little self-respect. As fast1 pointed out, the rest of us won't be laughing with you; we'll be laughing at you.
People know it's a Porsche. People know you have fancy tires on it. Let it stand on those facts without the billboards.

I think the only way you could get away w the tire stickers and/or various vinyl/graphics on the car is that if the car is being used as some sort of club racer or as a track toy on HPDE events. And you better be pretty fast to justify those stickers.

Love it.
To say that's it's over the top for a "regular" Carrera doesn't make much sense to me. 99.9% of people don't know the difference between a GT3 and a Cayman. My GT3 didn't feel more special, just more purposeful.

Not a bad idea, but I've already tried. I sent a letter to Pontiac when the Aztek was still on the drawing board; I sent a letter to the company that invented TruckNutz; the people behind Baywatch, The Movie; Honda when shots of the current Civic were first leaked. Alas, the main problem with bad taste is it's completely undetectable to its host, while everyone else can't not see it.

luckily, unlike my town when I tried to fix my roof, there is not an approval board for visual changes. let me save you the trouble....yes, I tried to put white lettered shingles on the house
this mod is much more in the 'fun, harmless and reversible' category to make the car a little unique. not like we talking about dropping a V8 chevy into a 991...

People who are willing to put these fake letters on their tires need to practice being a little thicker skinned. It's going to get worse when somebody actually sees it on your car.

I like the look on the black car posted above.

I think they look pretty cool and at the end of the day who gives a **** what anyone else thinks. I have to say in my one year of Porsche ownership that the criticism from a few of the enthusiasts on here is crazy. "If you buy those your a douchebag" "Your putting an aftermarket anything on your car, wow that not only voids your warranty but it takes away from the design the Porsche engineers wanted" "Guys at the car shows are going to laugh behind your back" blah blah blah. Its worse than the BMW forums nowadays, except everything is written a little more eloquently.
