After replacing the module car STILL throwing the same code. After all that SR just called me and told me his bets service tech. found a nest and a dead mouse and that apparently chewed part of the wiring.
Resulting in 10 hours of labor to fix about $1600. I hope that mouse enjoyed it. Anybody else have a problem with chewed wires? won't have the car back for 3 days now. To say I am pissed is an understatement.

Same happened to Matt Moorman's GT3. Think his insurance company picked up the tab.

Rodents chewing through car wiring is a known issue. (happened with my MDX). It has to do with soy-coated wiring that is more ecofriendly than the older plastic stuff.

Had it on mine for a change over valve wire (no heat!). The dealership provided pictures of the damaged wire, and the droppings. I provided to insurance they covered minus my deductable.

There are quite a few stories around that some newer cars use a soy-based coating on the wiring (in an effort to make cars more "green") and that attracts rodents who love the soy flavor of the wires.

Just curious BTW. Was the 4WD system ever actually compromised itself or was it just the monitoring system? If the latter, did anyone in service recognize this?
