Ok so what do people use in between washes? Anyone do intermittent dusting off process(es) ?
I'm all in with Zaino, so between washes I will use a few drops of their car wash in a spray bottle mixed with water for bug removal, but I only use this on the clear bra. Any paint surfaces without bra wait for a proper wash. IMO dusting leaves scratches On the surface.
Sonax or Adam's wheel cleaner, a wheel woolie, and a small bucket with car wash soap. I do that first, rinse, then do the car. After it's dry, I use 303 aerospace protectant on the tires.
[QUOTE=porsche42;14254669]I actually use a paint stick wrapped in a microfiber cloth to get the barrel of the wheels. U can put spray wax or soap on it. Works well for me.[/Q
I've gotten it to the point of my wheels looking showroom clean almost all the time with only a brief (once every three - four weeks)of actual washing. If you want consistently clean wheels, the first step in cleaning your wheels has nothing to do with cleaning. Install low dust brake pads. Once installed, I use a California Mini Duster to gently remove any fine dust that may be present(maybe a couple time a week). It takes less than 60 seconds a wheel. Obviously this will be harder/easier depending on the complexity of the wheel you have on your car. As a side note, if you are a track guy you will not want to run your low dust street pads on the track.

Have a clear bra on the front bumper, hood, front fenders and mirrors. Have coated the bra and the rest of the car with 2 coats of AMMO Reflex topped with AMMO Skin. Reapply the Skin every 3 months and the Reflex every 6 to 7 months. As a result I only water wash the car (using two bucket method and boar bristle brush and lambs wool mitt) every two to three weeks. In between I have been using Kenotech Showroom Shine which is a quick detailer that lifts the dust and dirt and wipes off with microfiber and buffs to shine. No scratches or swirls in the paint, the shine is amazing, it appeals to my marginal OCD but limits the time I have to spend on keeping it clean. For special occasions I use the AMMO carnauba wax to make the shine pop.
Many good products out there and I will get around to trying other coatings, these are just the ones I'm using now and so far satisfied.
Sonax all the way. Not the cheapest but 5 liters will last for well over a year. If you have a pressure washer or use a DIY car wash you can spray this stuff on let it sit for 3-4 minutes and the high pressure hose will remove it all. No pressure washer? May need a little agitation to remove the material.
