I do wonder what these two items are I saw on the steering column and on the front end (See pics attached) ?

That's it! Thanks for the heads up. I test drove it and did not see the light come on - so was not even sure if it was functioning.

They most likely took out the whole system, and just left a few of the pieces behind.

Who knows, hard to tell without looking at it and digging into the car.

Yep - pretty sure that is the case. Really have no need for it anyways.

bmw dealer - went across the street to the P dealer (the dealership it was purchased from) to check service records - all clean. Clean carfax as well. Just went out of warranty in May.

$79K is way too high for a non-warrantied car, even with the low miles. I don't know your area, but I'd target very low $70's plus a couple grand extra if it's your unicorn and you just want to get the deal done.
