Hard to tell without closer pics but jet black is metallic and will have metal flakes which you can see up close. Black is flat, no metallic flakes. The flakes you see in flat black are probably paint chips!

thanks....yeah....I couldn't tell if there are metal flakes. It's a beautiful car. I was looking at pictures of other black TTS's but this one just looks really stunning and I was just wondering if the difference was black vs jet black.

Can't go wrong with either really, they are both gorgeous if you can tolerate black. Regular black probably looks sharper when fully clean but imperfections will be more noticeable. The metallic flake in jet black will better hide imperfections and will also show some slight purple or dark blue hues in different lighting. I have jet black and love it.

my original build was Miami blue, now it's white.....but I'm also drawn to black. Freeze date for the order is 6/14/17. It's frustrating to always second guess my choices. hahah

Look at the last 2 pics of post #91. One is black and one is jet black. Hard to tell the difference.

Thanks. The non metallic black seems to be a deeper black. Or is that just the picture?

I wanted the miami blue for the longest time but then I just got tired of it. Was then going to try for Mexico blue but that would push the build further away.

I think it's just the picture. When I was talking with the other owner about it, we both could not see the difference from a few feet away but it was also a hazy day. A sunnier day probably would've revealed the differences better. If I were to spec black in a new build, I would choose jet black again mainly because it seems to be a little easier to maintain. But I realize some people don't want their black paint changing colors!

I have Jet Black Metallic. That car doesn't appear to be that, but it's hard to tell in the shade.
In this picture of mine in the sun you can really see the color difference. There's a lot of blue flakes in the jet black metallic.
